All the Horror Movies To Watch with the Family for Halloween 2022

If the family is looking for a good scare this Halloween 2022, here are some horror movies to watch!

For some of us with teenage or grown-up kids, watching horror movies has become somewhat of a Halloween tradition. What better way to celebrate the spookiest day of the year than with horror movies? While some of the little kids might prefer trick-or-treating, the teens and young adults might want to hold a horror movie fest in the house. Here’s a list of recent horror movies for Halloween 2022.

Orphan: First Kill

We remember Esther, a supposed orphan, who in reality is a 33-year-old serial killer suffering from a rare growth hormone disorder. This allows her to keep her child-like appearance and at the same time, mask her psychopathic tendencies. Orphan: First Kill is the gory, prequel to Orphan which tells the origin story of the insane killer with the face of a child. The movie came out last July 27, 2022.

Nope

Short for “Not Of Planet Earth”, Nope focuses more on psychological horror as a movie this 2022 when a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) makes its way to earth. Like any other person, the characters try to make money out of their appearance only to find themselves biting off more than they can chew.

The Exorcism of God

Although released in 2021, the Exorcism of God has an interesting story to tell when two priests try to remove a demon from a girl and things take a devastating turn. The main character is then forced to confront a criminal act he did in the past. When it comes to the supernatural, it’s always quite a watch, especially for the battles between good and evil.

Watcher

Women are constantly anxious for a reason—especially when there’s a killer on the loose. What more if the country one is in doesn’t speak a drop of English? In the movie, the Watcher, Julia and her husband, Francis, moved to Romania and she finds herself in a whirlwind of anxiety about someone constantly watching her movements. If you’re tired of the usual gory horror movies, maybe a psychological horror like this one ought to spook you.

Halloween Ends

Coming out on October 14, 2022, in the United States, Halloween Ends is the continuation of the Halloween horror movie franchise. According to the studios, this movie will be Jamie Lee Curtis’ “final performance” as Laurie Strode.

Umma

When it comes to looking for horror movies this 2022, it’s always good to add an Asian horror movie to the playlist. Umma is an American, supernatural horror film with a Korean setting. It shares the horrors of being a Korean immigrant and also what happens when no one wants to deal with the generational trauma. But with a few supernatural elements.

Spook up your Halloween this 2022 with these horror movies!

While it’s good to tackle the classics for a horror movie fest this Halloween, more horror movies have finally been completed. If the kids are not in the mood to trick-or-treat, they can have a movie fest!
