Anne Curtis Conquers the Tokyo Marathon
Anne Curtis adds another accomplishment to her list as she finished the Tokyo Marathon on March 5 which will benefit UNICEF.
After celebrating her daughter Dahlia’s birthday in Tokyo, Anne Curtis gleefully shared she was able to finish the Tokyo Marathon held on Sunday, March 5. She happily posted photos including one in which she was shown holding her medal.
“Officially a @tokyomarathon finisher. Every single kilometer was worth it, knowing I was running to help Filipino children heal and recover through the funds WE (yes, this includes every single one of you that donated) raised together,” she shared.
As a mom, she said the accomplishment made her emotional as it will benefit the kids of UNICEF, where she is one of its staunch ambassadors.
“It just hit a little differently this time around. Running with a purpose bigger than just receiving a medal kept me fueled. Which probably, unintentionally, led me to PR. Kilig. Right now, we have gone beyond our target in just 2 weeks. As long as you keep donating for the next 30 days, I will match whatever the final amount ends up being. So we can help more children receive the services they need.”
She gave a special mention to her coach Gab del Rosario as well as her family including her husband Erwan Heussaff and Dahlia for cheering her on during the competition.
“Your hugs and kisses last night before sleeping were everything to me and helped start this whole day full of love. Another marathon done and dedicated to the Filipino Youth. Thank you, Lord for giving me this opportunity. Congratulations to all the runners!”
Prepping for the marathon
It was back in February when Anne announced that she was running for the kids of UNICEF again. In one of her posts, she was initially supposed to do the Tokyo Marathon in 2019 but decided to postpone it.
The Tokyo Marathon is nothing new to Anne Curtis. She has previously participated in the New York and London Marathon leagues, which she also did for UNICEF.
Congratulations Anne!
