According to a report from CNN, Barbie worked with Dr. Jen Richardson. He’s a leading practitioner in educational audiology and made sure the crafted hearing aid was accurate. Richardson said in a press release that the Barbie doll with a hearing aid can serve as an inspiration for many young girls who are hearing impaired.

The doll is part of Barbie’s 2022 Fashionista line-up. It even includes a Ken doll with vitiligo. The Barbie with a hearing aid will be released in June. It will be available in leading stores in the US.

Vera Wang gets immortalized

Aside from the Barbie doll with a hearing aid, another popular personality was included in Barbie’s latest Tribute collection. Designer Vera Wang joins the ranks of personalities such as Naomi Osaka and Ashley Graham

“Fashion designer. Businesswoman. Icon. Barbie welcomes the visionary #VeraWang into the #Barbie Tribute Collection, honoring those who have shaped culture with their contributions,” Mattel announced on May 5.

Wang, whose parents migrated to the US from China wrote, “THANK YOU @mattel. This is such an insane honor. And I am so proud to be a part of this TRIBUTE series of women I so admire!”

Wang has dressed up some of the world’s famous personalities including Korean actress Son Ye-jin, Hailee Steinfeld, and Zendaya.
