It’s a family affair for Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter! The singer’s daughter is making her film debut by lending her voice as Kiara—the daughter of Simba and Nala in the upcoming Disney movie Mufasa.

The film brings back a number of the original voices from the Lion King movie, which include Donald Glover, Beyonce who is set to return as Nala, Seth Rogen, and Bill Eichner. Other actors and actresses joining include Aaron Pierre, Anika Noni Rose, Mads Mikkelsen, and Thandiwe Newton.

According to the teaser, the Mufasa film will show how Rafiki tells the story of Mufasa to Kiara.

“Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline,” according to the synopsis.

Gearing up for her moment

This isn’t the first time Blue Ivy will be part of the Lion King story. Back in 2019, she collaborated with her mom on the song “Brown Skin Girl” which was part of the soundtrack.

Blue Ivy also appeared on her mom’s Renaissance Tour, where she was a dancer.

Mufasa is directed by Barry Jenkins and will be shown on December 20 in cinemas.
