The beauty and wellness industry in the Philippines has much to be grateful for. And it’s thanks to these moms who have become beauty and wellness entrepreneurs.
Being a mother is both a reward and a challenge. It gets even more challenging when one has to work and be away from their children. But there are mothers who can do both with some even establishing their own businesses. Take the case of the beauty and wellness industry, where a number of moms have become their own bosses and entrepreneurs. They can at least get the best of both worlds by caring for their families and being the boss. Some would even later become big companies.

What started as Cheryl’s love for good eyebrows has made her enter the world of retail and bring cosmetics into the country. Aside from K-Palette, among the products she has brought in under the Beauty Box Corp include Cure Natural Aqua Gel, Baby Foot, and Himawari.
Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez: Happy Skin and BLK Cosmetics
Jacque Gutierrez is one-half of the tandem behind beauty brands Happy Skin and BLK Cosmetics. These brands have even become a must in many women’s makeup kits. Aside from being a wife and mother of two, another baby she is attending to is Seoul White Korea with products such as soap and sunscreen.
Jess Wilson, Martine Cajucom, Bea Soriano Dee, and Georgina Wilson: Sunnies Face
Considered the IT Girls of their time, the women behind Sunnies Face – Jess Wilson, Martine Cajucom, Bea Soriano Dee, and Georgina Wilson have transitioned as moms and moms-to-be. Despite their life as moms and wives, the four continue to come up with innovative products for Sunnies Face.
Monique Borja-Gonzalez: YogaLove
A yoga practitioner, Monique Borja-Gonzalez found herself establishing the brand in 2013. Speaking to Lifestyle Asia in 2021, she said of the brand: “I wanted to create one that was natural based, soothing, and most of all, smelled good.”
Today, YogaLove consists of essential oils, scented candles, creams, and diffusers.
Rhea Tan: Beautederm and BlancPro
Rhea Tan’s story in the beauty and wellness industry has become very inspirational for many. Starting her business small, Beautederm has now expanded into an empire. It includes beauty products, wellness products, a skin care center, and a coffee shop. Most recently, Rhea has launched BlancPro, the sister brand of Beautederm with Marian Rivera as its endorser.
Tina Lagdameo: Kiele Naturals
Tina Lagdameo was one of the women behind Go Nuts Donuts and co-founded PlanaForma. She eventually expanded into other businesses which include Honest Junk and Kiele Naturals. Kiele Naturals sells shower gel, room sprays, cologne, and lotion.
Anna Meloto-Wilk: Human Nature
Anna Meloto-Wilk is one of the brains behind Human Nature, which has become a beauty and wellness brand that has been exported to other parts of the world. Co-founded with her husband Dylan and sister Camille Meloto, Human Nature’s products include makeup, cloth diapers, bath and body products, and home and lifestyle items. Ingredients from the brand are sourced from farms sponsored by Gawad Kalinga, which is headed by Anna and Camille’s dad Tony Meloto.
Lia Andrea Ramos-Moss: Glamour Box
As a beauty queen, Lia Andrea Ramos-Moss knows the importance of looking good. Today, she is the woman behind Glamourbox, which distributes Pixi Beauty. In an interview with Modern Parenting, she shared, “It’s about fuss-free makeup and skincare that makes you look like you had a good night’s sleep. The products are easy to use, packed with beneficial ingredients for the skin and it’s very affordable. As a mom on the go, I want a simple and uncomplicated beauty routine for day and night. I lean on products that are great for my skin and enhance my natural beauty.”
