Marvel Reveals A New Superhero Movie: Captain America Brave New World

While Steve Roger has left big shoes to fill, Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) braves the new world as he inherits the mantle of Captain America.

When the Avengers saga ended, it left the world without a proper Captain America. As Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evans) chose to stay with the woman he loved, he then passed on the signature vibranium shield to Sam Wilson (AKA Falcon). Besides having his own adventures with Steve’s best friend Bucky Barnes (AKA Winter Soldier), Sam Wilson (reprised by Anthony Mackie) has also been getting used to the mantle his friend left for him. Thus with Marvel dropping a trailer for Captain America Brave World, we get to see how he decides to carry on Steve’s legacy while building his own.

“You’re not Steve Rogers.”

Many of us have been in Sam’s position before. When our parents pass something down to us, some look at us in disappointment when we fail their expectation or do something they feel that our parents wouldn’t do. The frustration with the failure builds up and sometimes we take it out on our kids. Eventually, they carry that disappointment too.

However, much of those failures don’t involve getting in between global powers as Falcon discovers. In Captain America Brave New World, Sam works alongside Secretary Ross as he runs for elections. But a failed assassination challenges Falcon to step out of his predecessor’s shadow as he fights what appears to be other super soldiers, based on the trailer.

Captain America Brave New World: A darker turn?

The comments on the trailer’s thread revealed a few excited fans and some other possible projects. Some have commented on passing the movie in favor of “The Red Hulk.” Others found delight while noting the more “espionage-like” elements in the trailer in comparison to the usual superhero genres. But that’s the interesting part for many of us who have followed the Marvel franchise since the Avengers Saga: Sam knows he’s no Steve Rogers.

But he is Captain America and he will do what he does best: keep America safe.

According to Marvel, Captain America Brave New World will be released on Valentine’s Day next year: February 14, 2025.
