Coffee 101 For Moms and Dads: Highlights of the Manila Coffee Festival 2022
We got to check out the Manila Coffee Festival 2022 and we’d like to share our discoveries with you!
There is no limit to how many coffee addicts there are in the Philippines. Last April 29 to May 1, 2022, Fort Santiago had a gathering of people who just needed their caffeine fix at the Manila Coffee Festival 2022. Different booths lined up the grassy entrance of Fort Santiago and you’d wonder if the rich and fragrant aroma of the coffee beans would be strong enough to wake the spirits of those in the dungeons.
Coffee Trivia Time!
We know a lot of us are sometimes happy with just an instant sachet of coffee. But there will always be those moments when we need something extra strong to get through the day. One of the few things we discovered during the Manila Coffee Festival 2022 was how different provinces in the Philippines had different blends of coffee. We’re pretty aware that Benguet, Mountain Province (or Sagada), and Barako coffee exist. But, we’ve found that even provinces like Iloilo, Nueva Vizcaya, and Sulu have wonderful brews to offer.
We know that americanos, cappuccinos, lattés, flat whites, and cold brews are trendy. But have you ever tried an Iced Americano with Black Gulaman and Pandan? With some basil seeds for some crunch, it adds a refreshing and mild sweetness. Definitely worth the wait at Papakape‘s Espresso cart!
And if there’s no time to whip up a cup of coffee then, no need to panic. Just pop a chocolate-coated coffee bean from Another Coffee and you’re good to go!
Never ever deprive a coffee addict of their fix
Shame that the Manila Coffee Festival 2022 only lasts three days. We’ve all become dependent on coffee at some point that we enter this surreal strange state when we don’t have it. The running gag of “coffee is not water” sometimes comes to our minds. But moms, let’s be real here: if we didn’t have coffee, think we would have survived running after our kids and managing the house? Didn’t think so. Just make sure to procure your coffee from shops that directly pay their farmers. They have to keep churning out our fix. Besides, we’re sure that nobody wants to see a decaffeinated mama when she’s angry or frustrated.
