COVID-19 Vaccine Approved For 5-11-year-old Kids!

The moment we’ve all been waiting for our younger kids, for them to get vaccinated! COVID-19 vaccines will soon be available for kids 5-11 years old!

There appears to be a silver lining in the doom and gloom that Omicron‘s brought us. Although COVID-19 cases spiked to 34,000 11 hours ago, Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr. announced that the Philippines is ordering 10 million more COVID-19 vaccine jabs for kids. While kids 5-11 years old have been confirmed to get jabbed, we’ve heard that younger kids like our toddlers might have a chance to get vaccinated at the end of the month.

UPDATE: It looks like there’s a final date for our little ones to get jabbed! Save the date — February 4, 2022, for our 5-11-year-old kids to get their vaccinations.

Our 5-11 year old kids might be getting Pfizer for their COVID-19 vaccine!

The best part is that the vaccine they’re currently bringing in based on the reports is Pfizer. FDA director-general Dr. Eric Domingo announced that the reports of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine having a 90% efficacy on 5-11-year-old kids make it more than enough reason to bring it in. He says, “It is reasonable to believe that the vaccine may be effective to prevent COVID-19 and the benefits outweigh the known and potential risk.”

Originally only 15 million doses, Galvez hopes that the 12-17-year-old kids would be completely vaccinated by the end of the first quarter. He says, “We ordered 15 million doses and we will be adding 10 million more.”

Our fear as parents

We know how fast Omicron spreads. If it only takes a few days before we get hit and we have the COVID-19 vaccine already, what more our kids? Celebrity moms and dads have also shared their experiences about being isolated from their kids because of their positive readings and it’s a nightmare. Them being isolated, their kids suddenly getting positive, rushing them to the hospital — that’s a challenge for any parent and a moment we wish never passes.

Get your families vaccinated!

We might be hesitant because of a lot of the horror stories regarding the side effects of the vaccine. But some of the side-effects just prove that our bodies are making good use of it. We’d be more scared if nothing happens because it might mean our body didn’t do anything with it. But once our 5-11 year old kids get their COVID-19 vaccine, we can rest a little easier. At least, they’ll be protected from its severe effects. This story’s still developing so stay tuned as we release when Pfizer will be released for our precious little ones!
