Dear Mama Event: Modern Parenting’s Love Letter to All Moms
The 2024 Modern Parenting Mother’s Day and Father’s Day print issue was formally debuted in an intimate event that celebrated moms at Brittany Hotel.
It takes great strength and patience to be a mom. As the unsung heroes of every family, moms take on important roles — juggling multiple responsibilities like nurturing and teaching their children, managing household tasks, and in some cases, even working to provide for the family, all while providing unwavering support and love!
Understanding this firsthand, Modern Parenting celebrates all moms in an intimate event that honors their tireless efforts. Set on May 23, 2024, the event was hosted in partnership with Brittany Hotel BGC.
Print is not dead
Dubbed “Dear Mama,” the intimate event was not only a love letter to moms, but it too was a celebration that heralded Modern Parenting‘s first print issue of the year: the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day 2024 issue. With firsthand narratives from moms and dads whose parenthood journeys are at different cusps of their lives, the print issue explored raising babies, parenting teens and tweens, and real stories about the joys and challenges of family life.
Beyond offering insights, advice, and heartfelt stories that resonate with parents at every stage, however, the 2024 Mother’s Day and Father’s Day featured the debut of Modern Parenting Kitchen — a series that highlights a key staple in many homes and families: food.
And of course, the much-awaited cover, which shines the spotlight on the hottest celebrity couple of today: Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera. This must-read delves into the couple’s lives in and outside the limelight as they juggle showbiz, raising their two kids Zia and Sixto, along with their plans after the success of their film Rewind.
“After the successful run of Rewind in theaters over the holidays, I got in touch with Marian again to lock them in as early as December last year for the Mothers Day and Fathers Day issue this year,” shares Modern Parenting‘s Editor-in-Chief Marga Tupaz.
“Dingdong and Marian are the ultimate power couple and while being at the top of their game, they are also raising a young family in these modern times,” she adds. “Having them grace the cover of Modern Parenting’s latest issue couldn’t have come at a more perfect time!”

Made by moms for moms, the Dear Mama event brought together well-loved brands like Dove and Bioten, whose interactive booths were the perfect setup for taking photos and trying out their products firsthand.
Moms also partook in free-flowing sangria and a scrumptious spread of canapes, elevated Filipino street food, and desserts by Brittany Hotel BGC — along with hotdogs from Berry’s Deli that guests can customize to their liking. To cap off the meal, The Kind Cookie offered soft cookies that came in many different flavors and were loaded with chocolates.
The intimate event was, of course, graced by moms — some of whom brought their kids to experience the festivities with them. Key attendees include:
Following the debut of the 2024 Mother’s Day and Father’s Day issue, moms were invited to participate in a heartfelt activity wherein they wrote their fears as moms in a white balloon.
After simultaneously popping them in a symbolic act of dispersing said fears, lucky moms found special paper in their balloons, which let them win prizes from So True Naturals, Browhaus, Strip, Brittany Hotel, Luminisce, Jellytime, and Pili Ani.
Of generous gifts and souvenirs
In true Modern Parenting tradition, guests left the event with a generous array of goodies that they can use for the family and even for themselves!
The Modern Parenting tote was filled with Long Kow vermicelli and bihon from Sapporo, powdered drinks from Luxe Kids, baby wash and baby lotion from Baby Dove, sun X and BB cream from Belo, room spray from Zen Zest, travel-sized hand and body wash from Dermtropics, Oreo cookies from Mondelez, sun spray and lipstick from BLK Cosmetics, and pouches with essential oil and soap from K Essentials.
Guests also took home a children’s book co-authored by Anya Legarda called “Safiya Speaks Up!” which follows a young girl navigating the distinctions between safe and unsafe touch in her community and learning to speak up against sexual abuse. The book even comes with a mentor’s guide which aims to help guardians have easier conversations with young children about such topics.
(Side note: Anya is a 17-year-old Filipino student who’s part of She’s the First, an organization of young female activists with a central mission to team up with grassroots leaders to make sure girls everywhere in the world are educated, respected, and heard.)
More than that, they got to bring home products from Bioten and even a toolkit from Buildhouse Depot!
“My special wish for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day this year is for parents to remember that at every phase or season, you will always be the North Star in the lives of your children,” Marga ends. “There are no hard and fast rules for parenting and you will have moments of fear and doubt. No matter where life takes them, your children will always long for you—your love, your acceptance, your warmth. And that is Forever Parenting!”
