Demi Moore Is Still A Winner In Everyone’s Hearts

Demi Moore may have lost the Oscar to Mikey Madison but the 62-year-old actress and mom of three is still a winner in everyone’s hearts

The Oscars are done and the awards have been given. Although Mikey Madison won for Anora in the Best Actress category, many expected Demi Moore to win the coveted statue following a good run during the awards season.

Despite not getting the Oscar, Demi held her head high despite some disappointment she may have felt. But she showed grace and true character when she greeted Mikey on Instagram.

A rollercoaster ride for Demi

“A huge congratulations to Mikey Madison — can’t wait to see what you do next,” the Substance star wrote Tuesday, March 4.

She also thanked her team including the people from The Substance. “ I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude for this journey. It’s been the ride of a lifetime and we’re just getting started! So grateful for my team, my fellow nominees, and everyone who has made this experience so full of joy and light. Thank you to the cast, crew, and fans of @trythesubstance@isimostar and @coralie_fargeat it’s been such an honor to work alongside you, learn from you, and celebrate this film with you.”

The message was accompanied with behind the scenes of her getting prepped during the season and time with her three kids Scout, Tallulah, and Rumer.

The post has garnered so much love and admiration from many of her followers. One comment wrote: ‘A class act!!! And a winner in my eyes!!!”

Another comment read: “ You are truly iconic—always showing the world what grace, dignity, and class look like.”

Losing the Oscar has not kept Demi from having fun. On Instagram, her daughter Tallulah shared a photo of her mom munching on french fries and spending time with their dog Pilaf.

We may interpret and speculate about what she feels but Demi can finally relax after a grueling awards campaign.

Demi’s Comeback

During the Golden Globes in January, Demi spoke about winning the award. She also shared a comment that initially got to her and was never deserving of an award.

“I’ve been doing this a long time, like over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor. And I’m just so humbled and so grateful,” she said.

“Thirty years ago, I had a producer tell me that I was a ‘popcorn actress’ and, at that time, I made that mean that this [award] wasn’t something that I was allowed to have. That I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn’t be acknowledged, and I bought in and I believed that.”

That statement made her question her role in the entertainment industry. When the film The Substance came, Demi knew she still had it and thanked the film’s team, including her co-star Margaret Qualley.

She imparted words of wisdom to women out there who felt they were not enough. “ I had a woman say to me, ‘Just know, you will never be enough. But you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick.’”

While it’s unclear what Demi’s move will be, moms and young women out there can learn a lot from her. Never put a shelf life on what you do. Because the plans and expectations sometimes will be detoured and something might come even bigger.
