More Than Magic: 5 Times Pirena and Flamarra Reminded Us of Real Motherhood
Like the fire gem they guard, the bond between Pirena and Flamarra blazes with fierce love and unwavering loyalty — a relationship many mothers and daughters will recognize in their own lives
The much-awaited arrival of Terra (Bianca Umali) in Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre has finally come in the show. As she and Pirena (Glaiza de Castro) return, it’s also a long-awaited reunion — with Flamarra, Pirena’s daughter, and Adamus, Alena’s son.
In the September 10 episode, Pirena and Terra search for Adamus and Flamarra as Mitena’s army closes in. Terra’s formal meeting with her cousins marks the beginning of their mission to free Encantadia from Mitena’s grip.
Over the past weeks, Pirena and Flamarra’s mother-daughter bond has been put to the test. Here are five heartwarming moments that show just how strong — and relatable — their connection is.

Preparing for Battle
After getting Cassiopeia’s warning about a danger that will test Encantadia, Pirena and her sisters wasted no time in preparing their children for battle. Pirena trains a young Flamarra, teaching her resilience even when she drops her weapon.
Pirena Shares the Danger That Awaits
Pirena is devastated to learn that her niece Lira and her eldest daughter Mira were killed in a battle in Sapiro. Angered and upset, she returns to Hathoria to inform her husband, Azulan, and Flamarra of the danger. Flamarra is shocked to find out that her sister Mira was killed.
Side by Side in Defending Encantadia
As Mitena’s forces approach, Pirena rallies the warriors of Sapiro, Hathoria, and Lireo to face the army of Mine-a-ve. Mother and daughter stand side by side, fighting alongside the remaining forces of Encantadia.
Flamarra asks forgiveness from Pirena
Grieving the loss of her father, Azulan, and feeling abandoned by Pirena, Flamarra becomes bitter and withdrawn.
But unknown to Flamarra, Pirena was asleep as she healed from the wounds brought by a battle against Mitena. Risking death, Pirena flies back with the help of Almiro, the king of Avila, to return to Encantadia.
Just in time, Pirena rescues Flamarra from an attempted capture by Ednu, one of Mine-a-ve’s generals. Shocked to see her ada (mother) in front of her, a tearful Flamarra seeks forgiveness from Pirena for being weak. Pirena reminds her that true strength comes from what’s in her heart.
The scene is a reminder that feeling weak is okay. It also reflects that there are times when one needs strength from others.
The Tearful Reunion
Pirena and Terra search for Flamarra and Adamus after Pirena’s fierce battle with Mitena for the third time. She instructs Terra to look for her albes (cousins) to warn them of the danger. After finding them, Terra informs them that Pirena was facing Mitena’s army alone.
As Pirena was about to get hit, Flamarra struck an arrow and rescued her mother. Adamus, along with Mantuk, Tukman, Soldarius, and Terra, attacks the rest of the Mine-a-ve army and rescues Pirena.
Pirena tearfully hugs Flamarra, assuring her once more that she’s going to be by her side in the battle they have to face.
A Relationship That’s Relatable
Though Encantadia is a fantaserye, the relationship between Pirena and Flamarra mirrors the real-life highs and lows of mothers and daughters. It may not be perfect, but it’s a reminder that the bond is always there — and that’s the magic that forever connects them.
There’s still much more to unfold between Pirena and Flamarra. We’re eager to see how Pirena will guide her daughter and the sang’gres, including Deia — in the much-awaited showdown between the new gem keepers and Mitena.
