Mitena’s backstory

We are introduced to Mitena (Rhian Ramos), who we know as the twin sister of Cassiopeia (Solenn Heussaff). Mitena was banished by their father Memen after discovering she was an ivtre or kaluluwa, a curse being to the island of Mine-a-ve. Mitena grew up in Mine-a-ve experiencing resentment, pain, and coldness, leading her to rule with an iron fist, vowing to wipe out the generation of her parents’ lineage, including the people of Encantadia.

A brief scene of the young sang’gres training was flashed, in which Danaya, Alena, and Pirena dropped by to check on them and hugged them. The sword of Amihan was also shown, a reminder of their departed sister.

Terra in the Mortal World

Terra (Bianca Umali) grew up in the mortal world. She was trained in combat and later used her skills to save people from danger. After Danaya’s disappearance, she grew up in the care of her adoptive mother Mona (Manilyn Reynes) and Lolo Javier (Buboy Garrovillo), who taught her to be the person she’s meant to be.

We see her encounter with Pirena (Glaiza de Castro), who tells her of her destiny to save Encantadia. She trains further with the other sang’gres, vowing to defeat Mitena.

The mortal world will also show Terra the meaning of cruelty as she clashes with Cami Salvador (Pam Prinster), the daughter of a politician.

Meet Sang’gre Armea

If you grew up watching the original storyline of Encantadia, chances are fans would recall Alena having another child, Armea, with Ybrahim. She is again in the story, played by Ysabel Ortega, donning the armor and color of Sapiro, Ybrahim’s kingdom. Her role as the other sang’gre and Adamus’ sister was confirmed after Alena warned him of the danger approaching Encantadia, telling her son to prepare for battle.

Special appearances on the show

Past teasers have featured cameo appearances, and the primer is no exception. In addition to Michelle Dee as Cassandra, Wendell Ramos as Memen, and Maxine Medina as Ornia, other appearances include the Gabay diwas of the elements and the Mulawins, the half-human, half-bird people, who incidentally started the storyline of Encantadia.

Light moments in the show

Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre also has its light moments. Lira (Mikee Quintos) and Mira (Kate Valdez) are still part of the show, and Lira, growing up in the mortal world, took her phone out to have a selfie with Mira.

There’s also Tukman and Mantuk, the equivalent of Banak and Nakba (Adamyans), who will bring funny moments into the lives of the four new sang’gres Flamarra, Terra, Adamus, and Deia.

Passing the Baton to the New Sang’gres

It was an emotional moment for Glaiza and Sanya as they congratulated Bianca Umali, Angel Guardian, Faith Da Silva, and Kelvin Miranda for the biggest project in their careers.

Sobrang proud ako sa inyo. Nakakatuwang makita na nag-mature kayo, nag-grow kayo,” Glaiza told the four new sang’gres. “Madami kasi akong eksena na kasama sila. Kaya nakakatuwa na finally ay nakita na ‘nyo [na] sila at makikita na ‘nyo yung pinaghirapan ng lahat.”

Sanya, on the other hand, told the four to keep inspiring the new generation of fans.
