Everything’s Just Peachy For Pantone’s Color of The Year 2024

Peach Fuzz, Pantone’s declared Color Of The Year 2024, showcases how families this year are looking for more warmth and a desire to nurture ourselves.

Last year, Viva Magenta signaled the return of celebrations and got families gaining their lives back after the pandemic took it. But this year, all that aggression slowly dies down with the new Pantone Color of The Year 2024: Peach Fuzz. It’s a velvety peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enhances the mind and the soul, says the official Pantone website.

“In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless,” adds Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute Leatrice Eisenman.

A New Shade Among The Nude Colors

Nude often describes skin color, certainly sounding better than the color “flesh.” But Peach Fuzz has a subdued pinkish hue, often seen as a blush when we see something we enjoy or feel warmth from. It’s why make-up palettes often range in this color: peach not only blends with our skin but elevates by adding a natural blush to our cheeks.

Dresses, on the other hand, are rarely in the peach fuzz color, especially in the Philippines. Most would prefer more passionate colors like Barbie Pink (hence the Barbiecore fashion), Viva Magenta — a darker but more commanding shade of red, or even Black which usually is a favored color of elegance. But slip dresses seem to be making a comeback and most of the time, we see these nighties-turned-work dress in a nude or peach color.

But heels in peach fuzz will definitely be a must and easier find this year, as they elongate our frames when blending with our skin. If we’re trying to look taller at weddings, or celebrations, or have no shoes to match our monochrome outfits, nude or peach fuzz-colored heeled shoes or platforms will be the best way to go.

Celebrate 2024 With Pantone’s New Gentle But Warm Color Of The Year!

Whenever we’re designing something, our usual go-to palette involves either white or nude colors because of how clean it looks. White may be bright but it’s also a little cold, compared to the warm blush that peach fuzz has. It’s to soothe families and people after a year full of turmoil, says the organization. Especially in the digital age where everything seems to be harsh and strictly cut, wearing or adorning our social media with a bit of Pantone’s color of the year 2024 may just add a little more softness in already a cold, hard world.
