All The Exciting Announcements from D23
The D23 Expo in California was star-studded with several movie, theatre, and cruise announcements. Disney’s sister companies also shared a lot of good news!
Last week, the D23 Expo in California revealed much news from Disney’s sister companies. From movies to Disney legends, it was an event to remember as families look forward to what’s ahead in the last quarter of 2024 and 2025 for television, theatre, and film.
Here are some of the highlights of the D23 Expo:
Dream Productions
Pixar announced a new series called Dream Productions inspired by Inside Out. It’s scheduled for a 2025 release through Disney Plus.
Win or Lose
Another Pixar series, Win or Lose is scheduled for release on the Disney Plus on December 6.
Movies
Toy Story 5
Woody, Buzz, Jessy and the gang are coming back for Toy Story 5 in 2026!
The Incredibles 3
The superhero family is making a return very soon.
Other animated films
Other films in the pipeline from Pixar include Zootopia, Hoppers, and Elio.
Lilo and Stitch
Experiment 626 is coming in live animation as Lilo and Stitch hits cinemas in 2025!
Freakier Friday
Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are coming back for the sequel of Freaky Friday in 2025.
Other films announced include Snow White, Mufasa, and Moana 2.
Musicals
The following musicals were also announced during D23 Expo:
Hercules
The electrifying musical is debuting in London’s West End in 2025.
Frozen the Musical on Disney Plus
Frozen the Musical starring Samatha Barks as Elsa will be shown on Disney Plus in 2025.
The Greatest Showman
Disney announced it was working on a musical adaptation of The Greatest Showman.
Other announcements at the D23 Expo include Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew, and Percy Jackson. Marvel Entertainment also announced its films previously done at Comic-Con.
