Family Matters Cast on Possible Win in MMFF 2022: It’s a Bonus
The Family Matters cast says it’s already a bonus if they win the big honors at Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night.
The cast of the movie Family Matters was in full force during the premiere night last December 16. The movie, which Nuel Naval directed, is one of the eight films in the Metro Manila Film Festival opening on December 25.
Before the screening, members of the media were able to get a quick interview with the cast members about the possibility of getting awards for the film.
Best Ensemble Cast
Noel Trinidad, who plays the patriarch of the family in the movie, said that what was important for them was that moviegoers will like the film. Asked about the possibility of getting the Best Actor award, Trinidad said he does not really want to think about it. However, he wants the Family Matters cast to get recognized.
“I’ve said this before and I will say it again. Dapat may Best Ensemble Acting in a movie. Dahil kung meron ganun, siguradong pasok kami doon.”
“Dito makikita niyo sa pelikulang ito lahat kami, meron kaming moments. So walang nangingibabaw. Pantay-pantay kami. It has been a pleasure and an honor to work with all of these people. Ang gagaling nila,” the vetan actor added.
Liza Lorena, on the other hand, prays that the team will get what they truly deserve. “Sana Best Picture man lang and Best Actor.”
James Blanco, who plays Nelson in the show said: “Bonus na lang iyon sa amin kung makatanggap kami ng award. Pero sa una pa man, salamat sa makakatanggap nun.”
A Powerful Cast
In the film directed by Nuel Naval, Noel Trinidad and Liza Lorena play Francisco and Eleanor, who find themselves under the care of their children after Francisco unexpectedly had a hard time breathing. Their children take turns taking care of them as each one also tries to navigate their respective issues.
Moreover, part of the cast are actors Noni Buencamino, Agot Isidro, Mylene Dizon, and Nikki Valdez. Ian Pangilinan, known for his role in the hit show Gaya sa Pelikula, makes his movie debut.
Family Matters opens on December 25.
