How Sheryn Regis Accepted Her Daughter Sweety’s Sexual Preference
Singer Sheryn Regis says she and her former husband have long accepted their daughter Sweety, who came out as bisexual.
Sheryn Regis shared that she already knew about her daughter Sweety’s sexual preference for a while now. During an episode of Magandang Buhay last April 24, Sweety confirmed she was bisexual and mentioned that she’s grateful her mom has been supportive.
The “Come in Out of the Rain” songstress said that she is very proud of how mature her daughter is as well. “I am so proud of her for having an open mind para sa lahat ng gender, kung anumang sitwasyon ng buhay naiintindihan niya sa murang edad.”
She added that she and her ex-husband have talked about it before. “Pinag-uusapan din namin whatever Sweety decides, prefers kung ano ang gender preference niya, in-accept namin.”
“Kasi we accepted her, I accepted her and now she accepted me for being who I am but mommy pa rin ako.”
Same-Sex Relationship
Sheryn first rose to fame as a runner-up in Star in A Million alongside fellow singer Erik Santos. She was briefly based abroad before returning to the Philippines.
In 2021, she confirmed that she was a lesbian. Sheryn is currently in a relationship with YouTube content creator and entrepreneur Mel de Guia.
