The Basic Items in a COVID-19 Care Kit

Prepare these items in your COVID-19 care kit in case of an emergency

Two years since the pandemic began, you think people would know how to handle the situation. We have been reminded many times of proper hygiene and social distancing, but what if COVID-19 hits you at home and affects mobility? Just like a First Aid Kit, a COVID-19 Care Kit has become handy in these challenging times. Last year, COVID-19 care kits were distributed under the Office of the Vice President. The care kits include disinfectants, disposable gloves, medicines, and thermometers among others.

So what do you need for a COVID-19 care kit? Some of the contents are actually found in your home. The following are some of the basic items:

Face masks

Always make sure to have a stock of face masks with you especially when you and your family are going out. Make sure that the face masks are tight enough.

Alcohol or sanitzers

Aside from washing your hands with soap, alcohol and sanitizers have become a must to avoid any type of transmission. This also washes or kills possible bacteria that one may have gotten or touched from surfaces.

Thermometer

A fever is one of the signs that you may have COVID-19. A thermometer is handy in monitoring your body’s temperature.

Pulse Oximeter

A pulse oximeter measures the level of oxygen in one’s blood as well as the heart rate.

Household disifenctants

Make sure to clean the surfaces of your house with disinfectants. Aside from alcohol, some of the disinfectants you can use include hot water, essential oils, and vinegar.

Prescribed medicines

These medicines may have been prescribed by your doctor in the past such as cough syrups and paracetamol.

Remember to seek help

Having some of the basic items come in handy in case someone gets COVID-19. The most important thing to do is to seek help immediately from a family doctor who can guide you. Also, remember to stay calm and follow the protocols. If given a chance, get yourself vaccinated because it will help lessen the effect of the virus.
