Stranded or trying to find a place to stay safe and dry? Here are some malls that are offering their areas as shelters from Typhoon Karding.

Recognized already as a super typhoon, Karding’s brought in black skies, rumbling thunderstorms, and torrential rainfall. If you’re currently stranded or trying to find a place to find shelter, here are some malls that are opening their doors to serve as temporary shelters for those who are stranded.

SM Mall of Asia

One of the biggest malls in the Philippines, SM Mall of Asia recently announced that they will be offering temporary shelter to those stranded by Super Typhoon Karding. All private car owners who end up staying overnight can have their overnight fees waived. Make sure to consult with the concierge!

SM Malls of Rizal

SM Masinag, Antipolo, San Mateo, and Angono are keeping their supermarket open for those who need supplies. However, other stores will close by 9:00 PM.

SM Clark

For those in Pampanga, SM Clark released a statement that they’re serving as a shelter, too.

Ayala Malls MarQuee

Those stranded in Angeles City, Pampanga can find themselves a temporary refuge and shelter in Ayala Malls MarQuee.

Trinoma and Vertis North

Although the stores are shut, TriNoma and Vertis North designated a waiting area and their restrooms will remain open until Typhoon Karding slows down.

Stay safe in these malls!

For those who are driving home, best not to push it. It’s safer to spend an extra few hundred pesos on parking than end up stranded in a flood. It might take a few hours and make sure to always follow PAGASA’s reports. Stay safe and dry everyone. We’ll continue to update this for those who need it!
