Maricel Laxa’s Boston Marathon Moment Shows Moms Can Still Do What They Love!
Actress and mother of five Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan ran at the Boston Marathon with her daughter Hannah Pangilinan!
We all know Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan as a wife, mother, actress, and author. But she is also an athlete in her own right, having done several marathons with her family.
On Wednesday, April 17, Maricel shared the news that she finally did the Boston Marathon. She was with her daughter Hannah Pangilinan and host and eventologist Tim Yap. “WE Made it!” she shared on Instagram. ” Still in awe that finally after seven years of avoiding and quitting to strive for my 6th Star, it is done.”
“Faced my fear, finally and overcame by God’s grace.”
In a post shared with Tim, Maricel briefly shared about conquering the Boston Marathon at 54. “My first marathon is dedicated to Anthony (her husband)- who inspired me and paced me from start to finish,” she told him, dedicating the medal to her children and son-in-law Enrique.
“My first 42k was when I turned 42. Now am 54!”
Hannah also took to social media to share their mother-and-daughter moment. “Her six-star medal and my first world major marathon, what a time with you Mom. At a loss for words, thank you for all your support—more soon. To God be all the glory!”
Any parent can do it, too!
Despite a busy schedule attending to her family, showbiz commitments, and other tasks, Maricel is one of many moms out there who proved that one can still run and move. It’s all about making time for oneself.
Fitness is a big thing in the Pangilinan family. Many of them shared on their respective social media accounts about the importance of moving and getting some exercise in between their busy schedules.
