Miss Universe Queens Spend Time With Smile Train Beneficiaries
Pia Wurtzbach, Iris Mittenaere, and Demi Leigh Tebow spent time with the Smile Train beneficiaries.
Their reigns may be over but Miss Universe titleholder Pia Wurtzbach, Iris Mittenaere, and Demi Leigh Tebow continue to spread smiles to children wherever they go. A day before the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night, the three beauty queens got to spend time with beneficiaries of Smile Train under its partner Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation of the Philippines, Inc.
Smile Train is an international organization dedicated to bringing smiles to children through cleft operations. It’s one of the groups that the Miss Universe Organization continues to champion. Pia, Iris, and Demi continue to support them in their own personal capacity.
Smile Train’s Impact
Kimmy Coseteng-Flaviano, Smile Train SEA Vice President, states that the partnership between Smile Train and Miss Universe has been a big boost for them and the kids they continue to help.
“Smile Train is grateful for the unwavering support given by the Miss Universe queens and the Miss Universe Organization. The impact they have globally and their genuine compassion towards our patients are vital to further our cause,” Flaviano said.
“With their support, we hope to reach more patients and families. So that we can continue to provide them with the care that they need.”
Since the start of the pandemic, the organization has been able to support 590 cleft surgeries in the Philippines. Aside from the queens, other celebrities have also been helping the organization in their own capacity to raise funds for cleft operations for children.
Celeste Cortesi of Pasay won the Miss Universe Philippines title last April 30. She succeeded Beatrice Luigi Gomez. Celeste also flew with Demi to Davao, where they graced the 7th anniversary of the Tebow CURE Hospital.
