Tebow CURE Hospital Gets A Universe Visit from Demi-Leigh Tebow and Celeste Cortesi

Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Tebow and Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi recently visited the Tebow CURE Hospital in Davao.

Two days after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 crown, Celeste Cortesi accompanied Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Tebow, to Davao. The two graced the 7th anniversary of the Tebow CURE Hospital in Davao City.

The two beauty queens were able to interact with kids, talk with volunteer staff members, and observed two surgeries.

In an Instagram post, Demi-Leigh said of the visit: “Happy 7th Anniversary @tebowcure! So incredibly thankful to be a part of this milestone celebration and to have had my honored guest, the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2022 @celeste_cortesi join us.”

“I’m so grateful that I got to spend time with the sweet children and amazing staff in Davao City. We at the @timtebowfoundation believe that there is power when we come together. We deepen our reach, deepen our impact, and truly have the opportunity to change the trajectory of these children’s lives. And we are so grateful to our partners at @cureintl and to our TTF fam for your continuous support.”

Life-changing experience

Demi and Celeste shared their experiences in interacting with the Tebow CURE Hospital staff and kids in a short video. It was posted by Miss Universe Philippines Communications Director, Voltaire Tayag.

“When we come together, we are able to deepen our reach. We’re able to deepen our impact,” Demi said as she spoke about how surgeries changed a kid’s life.

Celeste for her part admitted that she initially got overwhelmed by the experience. However, she was happy that her first duty was to be there and talk to the kids.

“When you join a beauty pageant, your purpose should go beyond winning the crown. What really matters is what you do after with that crown,” she said.

She added that she saw the struggles families go through—especially when they have no means to have their kids undergo operations. But with the services provided by the Tebow CURE Hospital, it was a good start. She hopes for the day when more hospitals can provide free health services.

Tebow CURE Hospital

The visit was part of Demi’s visit to the Philippines after hosting the Miss Universe Philippines pageant. The Tebow CURE Hospital caters to surgeries and special needs for kids. These include cleft palate, club foot, and other various conditions.

Moreover, the Tebow CURE Hospital is one of many hospitals under the Tim Tebow Foundation. It was established by Demi’s husband, former American athlete Tim Tebow.
