New Snow White Trailer Shows She Ain’t A Damsel In Distress
Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot star in the live-action version of the beloved classic tale. Plus a new song is introduced!
A full trailer for the live-action Snow White has been posted online. While the elements from the 1937 film are there, there are some tweaks to the story starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot.
A courageous princess
One scene shows Snow White intervening in the Queen’s command. She is also seen as someone leading the people of their town to take back what is rightfully theirs.
While Snow White is shown as courageous and opinionated, the Disney classic elements remain. She meets the animals, who become her friends, and seven dwarfs, who are hesitant with her but become her friends and protectors.
There’s also the magic mirror, wherein the queen would ask, “Who is the fairest of them all?” and the poison apple, which we all know plays a big part in the movie.
There’s a new song introduced!
While we are familiar with songs such as “Whistle While You Work,” “Someday My Prince Will Come,” and “Heigh Ho,” there will be new songs to watch out for. In the trailer, a new song, ” Waiting on A Wish,” is sung by some of the dwarfs. The song was written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, whose songs were on The Greatest Showman.
Walt Disney first released Snow White in 1937, making it one of the classic stories in its catalog. It paved the way for more animated films in its Disney Princess line, which includes Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast.
Disney has released various live-action movies featuring its roster of princesses and Snow White is no exception! While it’s a retelling of the 1937 classic, we have yet to see how it will attract a new set of audience.
Snow White will be shown in cinemas on March 21, 2025. The film is one of the many announced in D23 last year, including films from its sister companies Marvel and Pixar.
