Pauleen Luna Sotto on the Motherly Advice She Learned from Lolit Solis
For Pauleen Luna Sotto, the late Lolit Solis was more than her manager; she was her second mother
For many, the late Lolit Solis was the feisty, fearless manager who always had something to say. But for Pauleen Luna Sotto, she was much more than that — she was a second mother.
Behind the sharp wit and tough exterior was a woman who loved deeply, protected fiercely, and taught lessons that went far beyond showbiz.
Speaking to Modern Parenting, Pauleen shared how Manay Lolit shaped not just her career, but her heart — especially now that she’s a mom herself.
The Lolit Only Her “Alagas” Knew
To the public, Lolit was strong and outspoken. But Pauleen saw a different side.
“You know, people who are not her alaga can’t wrap their mind na, ‘Mabait si Manay Lolit?’ It’s always like that,” she said.
According to Pauleen, the strictness came from years of experience in the industry. It was protection, it was survival. But when she married Vic Sotto, Pauleen witnessed a shift.
“Para siyang two-faced — nakita ko yung kabilang side,” she shared with a smile. “She softened 100%.”
Lolit began saying things Pauleen never expected to hear from her manager. She would remind her to love her family fiercely. To take care of her husband. To value the home she was building.
“She would tell me she loves me and she loves my family. And to always take care of my family because they are the only ones I’ve got.”
It was advice rooted not in showbiz strategy — but in life.

Lessons on Love and Partnership
One thing Lolit consistently reminded Pauleen of: take care of Vic.
That reminder echoed something Pauleen once heard from Ice Seguerra, who said he was happy Vic had finally found someone who would take care of him — because for the longest time, Vic had been the one taking care of everyone else.
Not everyone sees that side of Vic, Pauleen said. But Lolit did.
“He deserves it. He deserves all the love and care that he can get in this world. So you take care of your family.”
For Pauleen, those words stayed now that she’s also a mom to Tali and Mochi.
A Heart That Gave in Silence
Beyond the tough image was a woman with an incredibly generous heart.
Pauleen recalled how Lolit would sometimes ask her talents for gifts — from lechon to TVs to cellphones. Later, they would find out she was hosting a party and raffling those very gifts to others.
“She opens her doors to everyone and anyone who wants to feast with her,” Pauleen said. “She’s really one of a kind.”
It was classic Manay — loud on the outside, soft at the core.
More Than a Manager
For Pauleen, Lolit was never just a manager. She was a mentor. A confidante. A mother figure who showed her that strength and tenderness can exist in the same person.
And now, as Pauleen raises her own children, those lessons live on — in the way she loves, protects, and prioritizes her family.
The feisty persona may be what the public remembers.
But for Pauleen, it was the softness behind it that mattered most.
