Pets are Now Allowed on LRT 2: What Fur Parents Need To Know
Fur parents, rejoice! Pets are now allowed to ride the LRT 2. Here’s what you need to know.
Good news for fur parents out there! The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced last January 26 that they can now commute with their pets. According to LRTA administrator Hernando Cabrera, pets will officially be allowed to ride the LRT 2 with their owners beginning February 1. However, there are limitations. These limitations are:
- Pets should be in a cage
- Pets’ vaccinations should be complete.
- They should be wearing a diaper to maintain cleanliness
Cabrera told the media last week that they are not yet allowing pet owners to ride their dogs with just a leash.
“Kapag nakatali maaaring magkaroon tayo ng operational problem niyan sa loob ng tren o sa istasyon,” he said of the rule regarding putting pets on a cage.
Pet owners who have big dogs should think about it first before bringing them to the train. The LRTA management will release more details as it prepares its train stations to be pet-friendly.
One Train Station at a Time
The announcement allowing pets in LRT 2 comes after the LRTA teased on their social media accounts that they’ll be allowing pets.
Last year, the MRT management started allowing pets to ride at the station provided they follow the rules.
