Sofia Richie Grainge Shares First Photo of Her New Daughter
Sofia Richie and her husband Elliot Grainge announced the arrival of their daughter Eloise Samantha.
Sofia Richie Grainge has given birth. The daughter of singer Lionel Richie announced last May 25 that she and her husband Elliot Grainge have welcomed a daughter. “Eloise Samantha Grainge. 5•20•24 best day of my life,” Sofia captioned the photo showing her daughter’s little feet.
The photo has received many comments including Kylie Jenner and Sofia’s sister Nicole, who said of her new niece: “I now have a new favorite EG. sorry Elliot.”
The meaning of her daughter’s name
Although many have pointed out that the name Eloise is close to a character from the show Bridgerton, the name Samantha holds a special place for the couple. According to a report from People, Samantha is the name of Elliot’s late mom.
Sofia, who married in 2023 confirmed that she and Elliot were expecting their first child in January. In an interview with Vogue, she recalled how she told their families the moment they found out they were expecting.
“Everyone was like ‘Ooooh Hermes!’ But then they opened it and it had all three of the pregnancy tests [in it]. That’s how we told all of our parents. Watching their reaction go from like, ‘I’m about to get an expensive present’ to like ‘I’m about to get a grandchild’ was really sweet.”
Sofia Richie Grainge often modeled for brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, and Adidas. She and Elliot Grainge tied the knot on April 2023 in Southern France. Elliot is the CEO of the recording studio, 10K Projects. Sofia has two siblings, Nicole and Miles.
