Meet Sweden’s Dad Harmony, An Acapella Group Singing Into Everyone’s Hearts
The Swedish acapella group is popular in Europe and gaining fans from other parts of the world
Music is universal despite different languages and geography. Thanks to technology, more people are recognized, like a group of dads from Skellefteå, Sweden who went viral in 2023 as an acapella group. Meet Dad Harmony, composed of Sebastian, Tomas, Adam, Peter, and Michael, whose music covers are listened to by thousands of music lovers.
Just who is Dad Harmony? Here are a few things to know about the Swedish acapella group.
How did they get together?
According to a Q and A on their verified Instagram, the five got together, with four of them already knowing each other. “ Sebastian, Peter, Adam, and Michael met in high school. Tomas is Peter’s older brother.”
In an interview with the wire news AFP, Peter shared the idea of the group started during his bachelor party.
“My brother Tomas was just filming when we were singing the Weatherman song that Sebastian taught us. I hadn’t heard the song at that time and he filmed it and put it on TikTok with seven of his followers.”
“That day after we had like 40,000 views on that clip and it just kept going.”
All five of them are married and have kids
All members of the group are married and when asked how many kids they have, all of them answered two. So when they are all together, they are surrounded by 10 kids. The kids even make appearances in the videos their dads upload on social media.
Judging from the comments they get, their fans don’t mind seeing the kids, saying that it’s a good way to bond with them.
They still have regular jobs
Although they have been making appearances and touring, the five dads still have regular jobs in sales and janitorial.
Aside from their singing and regular jobs, they spend time with their children thanks to a good paternity law in Sweden.
“Almost every guy in Sweden is used to taking paternity leave, so it’s not a big deal for us,” Tomas told AFP.
Who sings which part?
In an interview with Curious, the gentlemen shared who sings parts when they perform together. Sebastian does the bass, Peter is their baritone followed by Tomas while Adam and Michael sing the high notes aka the tenor part.

They are on a European tour and gaining more audience
In January, Dad Harmony announced their European tour, taking them to Switzerland, Germany, and Czech Republic. Fans are hoping for other countries to follow.
As of February, Dad Harmony has a combined following of 4 million on TikTok and Instagram alone.
What songs have they released?
Dad Harmony has released versions of “Heal The World” “One Call Away” and a Christmas album, which can be streamed on Spotify and other music streaming services. They have also uploaded videos on YouTube and TikTok.
Music is universal and with a group like Dad Harmony, it’s only a matter of time that their voices reach in Asia.
