New The Bad Guys 2 Releases A Trailer: One Last Heist or No?
The last The Bad Guys movies got families laughing so, it’s a welcome surprise that the new trailer for The Bad Guys 2 just dropped!
Old habits die hard. The new The Bad Guys 2 movie shows that with the trailer setting the premise for what appears to be the characters’ redemption arc. After their stay in jail, they’ve been trying but still failing a bit to lead more productive lives. However, that all changes when the Bad Guys are once again called to join a heist. After all, the new villain says to them, “I’m not asking.”
What the trailer tells us so far
Most movies nowadays follow the redemption arc plotline, wherein villains are given a chance to redeem themselves in the eyes of society.
Doing so allows our kids to recognize, in the midst of cancel culture, that forgiveness is still possible amidst the many mistakes. In a world where we try to teach them to be more mindful, it sometimes ends up being so frustrating because its a heavier mental load. Older generations are unlearning the old ways while building up a new vocabulary while the younger ones are just fired up and ready to go change the world.
Bad Guys 2 offers a similar plotline based on the trailer. As Mr. Wolf tries to become a more upstanding citizen while insisting that he’s now a “good” guy, he gets kidnapped alongside his crew by another set of thieves. Of course, this is where we see how old habits die hard. After all, he was already struggling to find a job due to his bad reputation so the thrill of the old life can be very charming.
The new characters, Kitty Cat (a cat), Doom (raven), and Pig Tail (boar), are voiced by Orange is the New Black’s Danielle Brooks and Natasha Lyonne, and The Apprentice’s (2024) Maria Bakalova. The rest of the members of the Bad Guys cast are reprising their roles.
If you love The Bad Guys, The Bad Guys 2 might be worth the watch
It looks like The Bad Guys are enlisted for another heist but with their lives and declarations slowly turning out for the better, will they take the bait? After all, it’s not always easy living a life completely different from the past. Some things that were possible back then may not make sense now and breaking patterns is no easy thing. Will Mr. Wolf and his crew succeed? Nobody knows!
The Bad Guys 2 movie is scheduled to release on August 1, 2025, in the United States. It’ll be available on Peacock and Netflix.
