TikTok Star Mama Tot Loses 18-Year-Old Son in a Shooting Before His 19th Birthday

Ophelia Nichols, also known as Mama Tot, pleas to her followers to help find her son’s murderer.

No parent wants to hear the news that someone shot and killed their child. Unfortunately, TikTok star Ophelia Nichols, also known as Mama Tot, faced that reality. On June 25, 2022, the TikTok mom received news from the police that someone shot her son, Randon Lee, in a gas station in St. Stephens Road, Prichard. “While my family and I are grieving a loss that no mother should ever have to feel, they are free,” she shares on Facebook. Ophelia then took to her followers on TikTok to help her find her son’s killer.

A Mother’s Emotional Plea: “I Need All Your Help”

In hopes of finding something, Mama Tot took to TikTok to ask her followers known as the “Tots” or “TaterTots” to help her find her son’s killer. “I’m just so overwhelmed right now,” she softly sobs in the video. “I know I’ve never asked you for anything but I need your help with this. There are 7 million people out there, somebody ought to know something.”

It gets more heartbreaking as she shares that her son died right before turning 19. “Today [June 26, 2022], would have been my son’s 19th birthday. They took him from me, my husband, and my family last night.”

The police said although Randon managed to put up a fight and drove off to another gas station, he didn’t make it. They also shared that there’s evidence that the crime may be drug-related. However, no amount of news can heal her pain.

“My son was murdered. He was shot. And I have this hatred in my heart that I don’t recognize,” Ophelia sobs while struggling to hold herself together in the video. “Because I’ve never felt hate for anybody. This individual took my son’s life.”

The Grief Is Indescribable

Although she shared an update about two suspects, it’s clear that the grief will not subside even with that good news. “I know they’re out there, in my town,” Mama Tot shares. “They’re out there, living and breathing. But my son’s dead” — she then grabs a photo of her and her son — “I want you to look at this. This is my son. This is my son! You took him from me,” her voice drops to a heartbroken whisper. “Look at his face. Look at him; because I’ll never see him again.”

Determined to find her son’s killer, her caption sends a clear message to the suspects. “You will reap what you sow in this world. You may not be caught now, but it’s coming,” she writes. “I will not stop until I find my son’s killer and have him prosecuted.”
