Vice Ganda Compares It’s Showtime to a Filipino Family

As It’s Showtime moves to GMA’s GTV channel, Vice Ganda compared their situation to a family who has been through ups and downs.

After airing on TV5 since ABS-CBN’s franchise was denied, It’s Showtime moved to its new home on GMA’s sister channel GTV starting July 1. The move was brought about after Eat’s Bulaga‘s original hosts led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon left the noontime show to form another show on TV5.

At the contract signing last June 28 attended by the It’s Showtime hosts and bosses of ABS-CBN and GMA, comedian Vice Ganda showed gratitude for their new home.

Vice Ganda: The move is very Pinoy na Pinoy

During his turn to speak on behalf of the hosts, Vice began by saying that when they found out about the series of events, he was calm and knew things were going to be okay.

The “Rampa” singer added that despite the challenges, they are still standing because of the love and support.

He also likened ABS-CBN to that of a parent, who continued to fight for his child during the toughest of times.

The start of something new for It’s Showtime

As he concluded his speech, Vice likened GMA to that of the neighbors who are ready to help.

And while he does not know where the series of events will lead the show and partnership, Vice said he’s confident that this is just the start of better beginnings for both networks.

“I am just very hopeful, very grateful, and very excited.”
