Love corn with your meal? Here are five other dishes you can do with it!

Who does not love corn? It’s one of the side dishes people love especially with steak or having corn on the cob. You can even have flavored corn, which is one of the staples in parties.

If you are a first time cook, whipping up dishes can be overwhelming. Here are five ways you can use corn in your dishes beyond as a side dish.

Soup

Corn is commonly used for soups. Aside from the cream of corn soup, other flavors that can be mixed with corn are crab and corn and corn and egg soup. You can even add other vegetables such as malunggay and other ingredients.

Salads

You can put corn in your salad and toss it with other vegetables. Don’t forget to put some sauce of your choice to give some taste!

Bread

Corn can be turned into bread! You make cornbread and corn muffins! You can even turn it into corn tortillas for tacos and chips!

If you are a breakfast person, why not put some corn in your pancakes for the added dose of sweetness.

Desserts

We all know corn has a sweet taste and that’s perfect if you want to make desserts. Aside from bread, you can make it to pudding. In the Philippines, we love it as part of halo-halo, ginataang mais, and mais con yelo!

Dips

Get adventurous and turn corn into a dip! Try it with chips and other appetizers and you’ll surely won’t need too much sweetness when making it.

It can be a challenge to turn staples like corn into something different. But the key thing to do is be creative in the kitchen. It might be weird at the start for some, but when you keep doing it, improving the recipe, and perfecting it, you’ll be able to do it with other staples.
