8 Baby Boy Birthday Themes We Love

Here are some birthday themes for baby boys to give you inspiration for your next party.

It’s only natural for us parents to want our baby boy’s first birthday to be perfect. Sometimes, we want to decorate the party with the classic blue and white theme. But a part of us knows also that our baby boy might not appreciate that theme for his birthday as much as we will. Especially when they grow older, they might feel like it’s just another generic birthday party. So here are some birthday themes that we feel our baby boys might love!

1. Dinosaurs

While some little girls have a horse phase, little boys have a dinosaur phase. When the great and mighty T-Rex comes stomping and roaring because it’s hungry, our boys may look on in awe and start mimicking the large reptile. Although Jurassic Park might be a bit too realistic for them, there are some dino-themed cartoons like Barney that our baby boys might appreciate more for their birthday theme.

2. Little Einsteins

Little Einsteins may be an old cartoon, but it’s an educational one that encourages a love for music. While listening to the music, our baby boys might want to have a large cut-out of Rocket, the characters’ favorite ride. The best part is that this cartoon takes on classical songs and turns them into rhymes that even kids and kids at heart can enjoy.

3. Cars

Whether it’s Pixar’s Cars or Hot Wheels, race cars are a beloved birthday theme for boys because they just love watching cars zooming around the racetrack. The cake looks like the winner’s trophy with the chequered flag on top with cupcakes having different cars as toppers. It’s also one of the more flexible themes because there are already a lot of cut-outs and bakeries that have done custom-made car-themed cakes.

4. Stars in Space

Although a little dark in color palette, what some of us parents do to brighten up the space theme for our baby boy’s birthday is we focus more on the planets and stars. With shiny gold and blue stars decorating the walls together with fairy lights along and cut-outs of different planets, we can also have space-themed snacks. There are neon-colored gummy worms, multi-colored rock candies, and more.

5. Filipino Fiesta

Celebrate the Filipino party spirit with the classic Filipino fiesta! When we were kids, we played all sorts of games like Patintero, Tumbang Preso, and many others that made growing up fun. Although our baby boy might not be able to join the older kids, he’ll appreciate grabbing a toy from the iconic Filipino party-ender: the Pabitin.

6. Boss Baby

When DreamWorks released the Boss Baby movie, it gave us parents an excuse to dress up our baby boys in little tuxedos for their birthdays! A fun twist to the usual serious business theme, Boss Baby allows us to make zip-up neckties, bottles, cookies, and even little briefcases as part of our giveaways. Besides, at our baby boy’s birthday party, he is the boss!

7. Baby Shark (or Underwater Theme)

Pink Fong‘s Baby Shark has now become a must-add to every new parent’s playlist because of how catchy it is. The song appeals to both boys and girls, showing that there are both boy sharks and girl sharks. From that song, the party can segue into a more underwater-themed birthday party that’s different from the usual Finding Nemo.

Plus, the Philippines is famous for some ocean parks which makes designing the party a lot easier!

Adorable birthday themes for our baby boys

Babies love animals, which is why some of us love going with the farm or safari theme for their first birthdays. But our baby boys have other interests, too, and birthday parties are the best opportunity to show another side of their personality. Ultimately, we hold these birthday parties because we want our boys to know that even when they didn’t know it; we loved them very much. And a lot of times, they only realize this when they are old enough to go through their baby albums.
