Sesame Street Gets a Super Visit and a Lesson in Kindness and Courage

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan visited Sesame Street, inspiring the muppets to be heroes in their way

Even the muppets of Sesame Street were not immune to Superman and Lois Lane’s charm.

Before the opening of the Superman movie last week, Sesame Street dropped teasers and videos on social media of Superman stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan interacting with Elmo, Cookie Monster, and the other muppets.

The Power of Laughter and Hugs

In one video, David and Rachel comforted Elmo, who asked them how he could be a hero if he didn’t have superpowers.

“You don’t have to have superpowers to be a hero,” Rachel told him.

“ Though it does help if you run around with your underpants on the outside of your tights, I’ve been told,” David chimed in, making Elmo laugh.

“See, sometimes even making someone laugh is a superpower,” David added.

Rachel, on the other hand, pointed towards Elmo’s heart, saying what’s inside of him matters.

“The people who need you are your friends and family, and all they need is to know that you love them,” David said.

Rachel then asked Elmo what the best superpower and Elmo answered with a hug, squeezing both David and Rachel in a tight embrace.

Superman meets Super Grover and Cookie Monster

In two other videos, David was seen with Cookie Monster, who was looking at a “kryptonite cookie.” Despite warning Cookie, he couldn’t resist and ate it anyway.

“Not even a kryptonite cookie can stop @cookiemonster‘s stomach!”  the caption read.

And what is a superhero without meeting Super Grover? David got to help Super Grover, who was carrying a rock. Grover initially falls, but David helps him lift it and toss it aside.

“My hero,” Grover said, with David returning the favor and hugging Grover.

David and Elmo couldn’t resist pranking Cookie Monster and put on a pair of glasses, making them unrecognizable.

Sesame Street also shared photos of David and the muppets, thanking him and Rachel for dropping by.

“Thank you to our friends David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan for stopping by our neighborhood! We love you!” Sesame Street wrote.
