When the Argentina National Football Team scored their winning shot at the FIFA World Cup 2022 against France, they celebrated as both a team and as fathers. They shared the trophy with their wives and kids, with some of the kids even having a chance to run on the field with them. The adrenaline and heartwarming euphoria of finally gaining the gold for the dads of Argentina National Football Team was all caught on camera, each of them imparting a lesson to many of the fans, followers, and viewers of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Argentina National Football Team’s Goalie Emi Martinez, also the winner of the Golden Glove, gives his son a ride on his shoulders while the little boy proudly shows off the gold medal his dad has earned. It shows that kids will never miss a moment to prove that their dad or mom is the best. It just so happens that Emi Martinez’s son has physical proof of it.

It’s a family effort!

Being a world-class athlete is not easy to balance with the demands of fatherhood. There are a lot of negotiations and talking to be done to make sure that the family is also included in the journey. We can see that with the Winger and Attacking Midfielder of Argentina’s National Football Team, Ángel Di María. Together with his wife and their two daughters, they all kiss the golden trophy. Even though it was Ángel on the field, it was a family effort to see it to the end.

The Argentina National Football Team’s win in the FIFA World Cup 2022 tells a story of pure emotion that celebrity dad Nico Bolzico narrates well: “We grow up playing football, regardless if you are good or bad at it. Dad taking you to the stadium is one of your first childhood memories with some of your best memories being about football. You made friends because of football. We can spend hours talking about football; you cry for football; football is part of your culture and DNA.”

According to Nico, Argentina’s win was the most important in its football history, unifying a country that lived divided and suffering from years of adverse economic conditions. “The team showed that you don’t need money to be within the best countries in the world; you need a united team, hard work, humbleness, and leadership,” he adds. “Today, the country looks at a new idol, a great footballer but most importantly a great person, who always puts family first, a great example for the kid growing up!”

Football is the number one sport and the most universal sport in the world. It is unifying; it transcends race, religion, language, social classes, and more. There’s a reason it’s called the beautiful game—because it’s for everyone! Congratulations, Team Argentina!
