Celebrity Parents Who Are Keeping Their Kids Away From The Spotlight

These celebrity parents want their kids to have a normal life away from the limelight.

The spotlight may be nice and all but these celebrity parents know all the stress that comes with it. Every little move gets scrutinized which can be stressful for their little kids, teens, and young adults. It’s even come to a point that some people forget that these celebrities are parents themselves! Here are some celebrity parents who kept their kids away from the spotlight.

1. Roger Federer

Roger Federer became a household name in the tennis world for being ranked No. 1 for 310 weeks, winning a current total of 20 Grand Slam Titles. However, what many people don’t know about said celebrity tennis player is that he’s a dad to two sets of twins: 12-year-olds Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, and 7-year-olds Leo and Lenny, with former tennis player, Mirka Vavrinec Federer! In fact, even his kids were left in the dark about just how famous their dad was until last year.

He usually kept things private about them. But we usually see the Federer family supporting Roger from the bleachers.

2. Halle Berry

“I have long since come to terms with the fact that choosing a career as an actress has made me a public figure, but my baby has made no such choice, and unless and until she does, I will do everything I can…to keep her out of the public eye,” Halle Berry revealed in an interview after a photographer trespassed on her property to get a picture of her baby in 2008.

In 2013, she was also very supportive of the law that prevented paparazzi from harassing her kids. “We’re not just whiny celebrities,” she said. “We’re moms trying to protect their children.” This was after she also revealed that the paparazzi had become so aggressive that her daughter was afraid to go to preschool.

3. Aga Muhlach

One of the bigger showbiz names, celebrity parent Aga Muhlach, became pretty strict with the rule that the twins can only hit showbiz once they’re done with school. While Atasha is making waves as a model, Andres keeps to a more quiet life and is currently enjoying the wanderlust fever.

4. Ian Veneracion

Celebrity heartthrob parent and one of our latest covers, Ian Veneracion, usually posts more pictures of himself and his antics on Instagram, keeping his family and kids away from the spotlight whenever he can. Unfortunately, it gets a little hard when people start noticing the semblance, especially in his son, Draco Veneracion.

5. Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz

Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz know how harsh the spotlight can be and have a “strong instinct” to keep their daughter away from it. In a joint statement, the two said, “We won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really, really cute!”

And ever since then, they had not posted a single picture.

6. Leighton Meester

Celebrity actress and singer Leighton Meester keeps her son out of the spotlight, knowing that once she does mention being a parent it starts to blur with her work. “I think the perception is: You’re an ingenue, or you’re an icon, or you’re a mom. There’s no in-between,” she says during an interview.

7. Drew Barrymore

A former child actress herself, celebrity mom Drew Barrymore knows what it’s like to have the spotlight hounding you at 7 years old. Emancipating herself at 14, she said in an interview that her kids won’t be allowed to enter the spotlight until 18 years old. “If they want to be actors [later] in life, I would be so supportive of it. Can you imagine me being [a] mom [who is] pushing her kids out there? That’s not going to happen.”

Celebrity parents: “Respect our kids’ privacy!”

Celebrity parents want to give their kids the choice of entering the spotlight if they want. Unfortunately, sometimes, the spotlight forces the kids into the public. But for many who want to see the kids, there’s a fine line between being completely intrusive and just satisfying one’s curiosity. Besides, with the way some people can be nosy, it won’t be a surprise if these kids would opt away from the spotlight that their celebrity parents are constantly under.
