Celeste Cortesi Reunites with Her Mother After Almost Three Years
Early this year, Celeste Cortesi went back to Parma, Italy to surprise her mother Maria Luisa Rabimbi, whom she has not seen face-to-face due to the restrictions of the pandemic.
Early this year after winning Miss Universe Philippines 2022, Celeste Cortesi traveled back to Italy to surprise her mother Maria Luisa Rabimbi, whom she has not seen in two years. The heartwarming video was posted on Empire PH‘s YouTube account as part of its digital launch on Tuesday, November 22.
Reunion in Parma
In the video, Celeste is seen reuniting with her best friend Francesca. Celeste was accompanied by the Miss Universe Philippines heads and Michelle Dee, Miss Universe Philippines Tourism.
Celeste was also seen with her mom’s Fulvia, who accompanied her to surprise her mother. “My mom thinks she’s going to dinner with her best friend. So she has no idea that I am coming to visit,” she said. “It’s been more than two years so I’m excited.”
And when Ma. Luisa Rabimbi opened the door, she was surprised to see her daughter! The two immediately exchanged hugs.
But in typical mom mode, Luisa’s words after were: “Naku! Hindi ko pa nalilinis yung bahay!” [“Oh no! I haven’t cleaned the house yet!]
Happy to be together
During the interview, Celeste Cortesi mentioned she was simply happy to be with her mother again. “I’ve been planning to go here so many times but because of the pandemic, of course, I couldn’t go home.”
Luisa admitted she didn’t expect her daughter’s presence after so long. All she knew was that her daughter was in France at that time and that she was already urging her to come home. Luisa also shared that Celeste already dreamed of being a beauty queen when she started joining competitions in Italy. But at the beginning, she wasn’t really vocal about it yet.
Moreover, Luisa revealed how her late husband loved the Philippines so much. Unfortunately, he got sick and needed to go back to Italy. After his death, Luisa raised her children by herself.
