Coldplay Jams With Michael J. Fox at Glastonbury Festival

Coldplay performed at the Glastonbury with one of the people they look up to actor and activist Michael J. Fox!

There is no doubt that Coldplay is one of today’s top bands with every concert they perform always a big hit. But at the Glastonbury festival on Saturday, June 29, the band got to play with one person they’ve always looked up to – actor and activist Michael J. Fox!

The band shared a snippet of their performance on Instagram captured by BBC. In the post, Coldplay wrote: “Thank you Michael J. Fox for making our dream come true.”

The band performed “Fix You” and “Humankind” wherein Michael was seen playing the guitar similar to his role as Marty McFly in Back to the Future.

During the performance, singer Chris Martin thanked the audience and Michael. “Thank you to the main reason why we’re a band is because of watching Back to the Future. So thank you to our hero and forever one of the most amazing people on earth, Mr. Michael J. Fox.”

Michael’s message

In a separate post, Michael thanked his team and Coldplay for the opportunity to be on stage with them. They first performed back in 2016 wherein they jammed to “Johnny B. Goode.”

“Glastonbury all the love and thanks to the @coldplay team who took such great care of us. And many thanks to Chris, Will, Johnny, Guy and Phil. Oh yeah in case you were wondering…it was f*cking mind blowing. There is a time for every band and a band for every time. This is @coldplay’s time.”

Michael, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1991, retired from acting back in 2020 due to his condition. He has since devoted his time to researching the condition and a possible cure through the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

A few years back, Michael reunited with his Back to the Future co-star Christopher Floyd to celebrate the film through the launch of limited merchandise. Last year, they also reunited in celebration of the film’s 38th year.
