Dimples Romana Cheers Callie On Her First Pilot Exam
Proud mom Dimples Romana celebrates her daughter, Christiana’s, passion as she passes her first round of commercial pilot license exams in Australia for Aerodynamics.
The feeling of watching your daughter succeed in her passion is a feeling like no other for celebrity mom Dimples Romana. The proud mom posted on her Instagram a gallery of photos of her with a 4-5-year-old Christiana, who she also lovingly calls Callie, a congratulatory letter, and also many realizations she picked up from parenting the now 19-year-old pilot.
“With us at home, Papa Boyet and I believed in giving the children what we feel they need to find their own paths and never be influenced by others as to who they want to become in the future – even us,” Dimples points out. “The moral of the story? Let the kids decide and embrace the way they are ♥️.”
On Parenting Callie: “Pleasant and Happy but also Shy and Reserved”
Many thought that Callie would have followed her mom into the showbiz industry, a thought that Dimples knew that her daughter wasn’t too keen on. “When you’re a child of an artista, they almost always assume the children will take after the celebrity parent. And if Callie wanted to be one, we would’ve supported her. But clearly, it is not what she was keen on doing.”
But knowing what Callie wanted to do was a technique that Dimples admitted took time to master, citing how shy and reserved her daughter was. “When she wanted something from me she either whispers it to me or would look at it for a long time until of course eventually I figured out it would be something she’d be interested in doing or trying out. Like arts or sports.”
A lot of our kids can be introverted like Callie. We are quick to dismiss them as strange or “anti-social” but, there is nothing wrong with being shy and reserved. Although we need to practice our reading-the-room skills, Dimples Romana offers comfort that every parent goes through that challenge. “Parenting an introvert taught me plenty and that was patience and ultimately how to listen to her without hearing the words.”
Proud of Her Sweet, Shy, and Introverted Child
While mistakes were made and patience was broken and built to listen, guide, support, and understand what Callie needed, Dimples embraces the beauty of seeing her daughter so empowered. “She is flying high, achieving so much and STILL she is that SAME, quiet, shy, reserved, lighthearted, sweet, and thoughtful introverted child she has always been.”
Although our desire to succeed remains, sometimes, it needs a different parenting approach to bring out the best in children. For an introvert like Callie, Dimples Romana adopted a more patient, observant, and active listening approach in creating the air beneath her daughter’s wings. Today, Capt. Callie is not just flying. She’s soaring.
