Kids Just Wanna Have Fun: 9 Exciting Places for Playdates

Playdates help kids build confidence, expand their social circles, and most importantly, have fun!

While we often use “date” in the romantic sense, kids have dates of their own: playdates! They meet up with cousins, friends, and other kids while moms and dads have a date of their own. That way, they won’t feel left out.

Besides, going on playdates improves their social skills and encourages them to develop their “core” circle of friends. Here are some places we can bring the kids to for playdates this 2024:

1. Heroes Headquarters

If kids are still in their Marvel, DC, or superhero phase, Heroes Headquarters indulges their desire to become one! Filled with obstacle courses that “train” them for the role, the kids will have fun living out their imagination of fighting crime and saving the city from villains. For kids who have just a lot of energy to burn, this is the perfect playdate spot!

Heroes Headquarters is on the 5th Floor of East Wing Shangri-La Plaza EDSA, corner Shaw Blvd, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, 1552 Metro Manila.

The place also has guides who can help kids make the most out of their playdate.

3. Color Me Mine

Kids love painting and if they want to take home something, they can go to Color Me Mine to paint their favorite mugs and ceramics. They can paint whatever they want on it – their favorite cartoon character, flowers, dinosaurs, you name it! Once they’re done painting it, they can take home their little artwork after Color Me Mine bakes it in their kilns for 5 to 10 days.

Color Me Mine is in two places at BGC: 3rd Floor Uptown Mall, BGC Taguig, and 2F Venice Grand Canal Mall, McKinley Hill.

The all-time favorite Kidzoona still makes it to the kids’ playdate list with its wide, brightly colored, and well-maintained spaces. The best part is, Kidzoona has multiple branches in various malls to make sure parents always have a place to let their kids have fun while they go malling or errands. Kidzoona also has birthday party packages in case the kids want to celebrate their birthdays.

Okada doesn’t just have restaurants and theaters – it also has a large place where kids can play! If we’re shopping or planning to roll at the casinos, the kids at least won’t be bored while we’re having fun. Play at Okada has a large indoor playground filled with slides and different obstacle courses that kids can explore. We also found out that the playground has an events room where kids can hold viewing parties and other events they want to share with their friends.

8. Cheeky Monkeys

Because Pasay is also home to a lot of corporations, there’s a need for a playdate place for kids while the parents are working. Cheeky Monkeys in the MET Building is one such place, featuring indoor soft play areas, baby yoga, dance classes, and even arts and crafts! Kids will never get bored with all the activities there.

Cheeky Monkeys is currently at Met Live Mall, Pasay City, Philippines. But their website is currently teasing an opening in one of the Ayala Malls soon.

9. SM by the Bay

For a more alfresco or outdoor playdate, SM by the Bay has a carnival and even a bike riding area. Lined up with restaurants for the family to also eat in, kids will have their wide space to run around while also having a choice to try out the carnival activities and rides. SM by the Bay is also an events space so there are times concerts could happen in the area!

While kids have their playdates, parents can have time for themselves!

The fun part about these playdate places is that the majority of them have staff supervising the kids. Or if we have a yaya available, they can go around with them while parents can celebrate Valentine’s Day or whatever special event with just the two of them. Besides, kids need to interact with peers their age. Parents need a break too and there are just some things that kids relate to better than adults.
