GMA’s Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre Is Coming Soon!
GMA introduces the new generation of sang’gres – Bianca Umali, Faith Da Silva, Angel Guardian, and Kelvin Miranda in the upcoming show Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.
The world of Encantadia which teens and kids from 2005 and 2016 have grown to love is expanding. GMA announced it is working on the follow-up of the 2016 Encantadia storyline through its news show Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.
First introduced last October 23 as part of the cast was Bianca Umali, who will give life to Sang’gre Terra, the daughter of Sang’gre Danaya, keeper of the earth jewel and Aquil.
Also introduced on October 27 as the new keepers of the air, fire, and water jewel are Angel Guardian, who will give life to Sang’gre Deia, Faith Da Silva as Sang’gre Flamarra, the daughter of Sang’gre Pirena, and Kelvin Miranda as Adamus, the only male sang’gre and son of Reyna Alena from Memfes.
The original sang’gres – Iza Calzado, Karylle, and Diana Zubiri congratulated the new cast during the announcement alongside the 2016 cast.
Rhian Ramos was formally introduced as Mitena, the ice queen and twin sister of Cassiopeia played by Solenn Heussaff in the 2016 show on November 3. Mitena is the mortal enemy of the new generation of sang’gres.
Familiar faces will return
Director Mark Reyes, one of the persons behind the popular franchise, confirmed that Rocco Nacino will reprise his role as Aquil.
“He’s back! @nacinorocco returns as Aquil for #Sanggre2024. Rocco is currently rehearsing for his fight scenes for the early weeks of the series. But of course, you can still catch him as Anton in #themissinghusband on afternoon prime.”
A short video of the cast was also shown led by Glaiza Castro reprising her role as Hara Pirena. She also confirmed the announcement in an Instagram post.
“Ikinagagalak kong makita kayong muli, mga warka.”
Direk Mark also confirmed in another Instagram post that Ruru Madrid and Kylie Padilla, who played the roles of Ybrahim and Amihan in the 2016 series, will also return for the show.
Encantadia was first introduced in 2005 and derived from the hit show Mulawin. It tells the story of four sisters – Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya who became keepers of the elemental jewels following the attack against the kingdoms of Lireo, Sapiro, and Adamya by the evil king Hagorn of Hathoria.
The show would have two more spin-offs – Etheria: Ang Ikalimang Kaharian ng Encantadia and Encantadia: Pag-Ibig Hanggang Wakas. The show skyrocketed the careers of Sunshine Dizon, Iza Calzado, Karylle, and Diana Zubiri.
A reboot of the show was introduced in 2016 to a new generation of audience with Glaiza, Kylie, Gabbi Garcia, and Sanya Lopez giving life to the four beloved sang’gres. Both Sunshine and Diana made appearances on the 2016 show alongside another cast member, Alfred Vargas.
A release date for Sang’gre has yet to be announced.
