How Families Can Help Others Affected by the Cebu Earthquake
Here’s a list of organizations helping out with the Cebu earthquake relief efforts
Last September 30, 2025, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck Northern Cebu. While some Cebuanos are no strangers to earthquakes, the damage is still devastating. Old churches fell. Homes fell apart. Aftershocks reached all the way to the province’s main city. Here are some of the organizations pitching in to help and are calling for volunteers and donations:

Angat Buhay Cebu
The Cebu chapter of Angat Buhay is putting up temporary hot meal stations for families affected by the earthquake to have food to eat. They’ve partnered up with several organizations, including the Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network and Rise Against Hunger Philippines.
Starting today, donors can drop off their in-kind donations at Britech College, Angelica Building, Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City (beside Bradford). For coordination, please contact Kaye at 0956 863 9742.

They need all the help they can get!
Cebu, because it lies on the earthquake belt, is extremely prone to earthquakes.
And while some of us have not felt the aftershocks, many of us can only imagine what it would be like for our entire lives to be wiped out in a single night. Earthquakes are usually measured on a scale from 1 to 10. So 6.9 is no joke; in some cases, that’s enough to take down a building.
Whether it’s through money, in-kind donations, or even connecting these organizations with the right people, the families from Northern Cebu need all the help they can get!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
A lot of times, we want to help, but the logistics can be a little difficult. But that’s why there’s online delivery. It’ll just take some coordination with the people in charge, but online shopping for in-kind donations is possible. Some have even used Amazon to send things over!
There’s nothing wrong with asking the organization for receipts or proof that they’ve reached the victims. It’s also making sure that the efforts and goodwill don’t go to waste.
Sharing is caring! Social media has made it possible for us to share the news everywhere. Someone’s bound to read about it.
Not really, many Cebuanos are actually quite well-versed in English—especially those in Cebu City itself.
