Jonathan Bailey Brings Joy and a Lesson in Self-Care to Sesame Street
Before Wicked: For Good’s international opening, Jonathan Bailey, who plays Fiyero, dropped by Sesame Street to bring some happiness and dance into everyone’s day
Many parents and kids are accustomed to seeing celebrities pop up on Sesame Street. And just when everyone thought Superman stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan’s appearance was already a highlight this year, another star added even more fun: Wicked’s Jonathan Bailey.
The British actor, who stars alongside Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande in the film, spent time with Elmo talking about the importance of quiet moments, and later joined Ernie and Bert for a bit of dancing. Jonathan’s appearance comes as Wicked: For Good is set to open internationally on November 21.
Taking a moment with Elmo
In the first clip, Elmo finds Jonathan spending time by himself. When Elmo asks what he’s doing, he replies, “Just taking a moment for myself.”
Elmo then sits with him and asks what they can do during a quiet moment. The Bridgerton actor answers that they can do anything.
“Sometimes, I do nothing. And sometimes, I just sit and listen to the leaves,” he shared.
He adds that he thinks about the things that make him smile, like his family and friends. He also reflects on the things he’s done over the past year and feels grateful for what he has.
Looking straight at the camera, Jonathan reminds viewers to give themselves a little time off: “Give yourself a moment for whatever you need.”

Dancing through life with Ernie and Bert
Elmo wasn’t the only one who got to spend time with Jonathan. In another clip, he’s seen dancing with Ernie while Bert grumbles in the background.
Bert finally asks, “Is that Jonathan Bailey?”
Jonathan replies, “We’re dancing through life, Bert.”
Bert eventually joins in and adds, “He’s got some wicked dance moves!”
“Dancing through life is always more fun with friends! Thanks to our pal Jonathan Bailey for stopping by to bust a move,” Sesame Street captioned the video.

A reminder to relax
In a time when so much noise surrounds us, Jonathan’s reminder highlights how important it is for parents to take a moment for themselves—and for kids to pause when everything feels overwhelming. It’s easy to get drowned in work or school, but taking time for yourself matters. It not only helps you feel calmer, but also refocuses you on the things you need to do.
