Judy Ann Santos Reunites with Gimik Cast in Birthday Special
Judy Ann Santos reunited with her Gimik cast members and friends Marvin Agustin, Mylene Dizon, Jolina Magdangal, and Dominic Ochoa to celebrate her birthday.
Judy Ann Santos has returned to vlogging recipes from her kitchen via Judy Ann’s Kitchen! In time for her birthday on May 11, the actress and entrepreneur invited her Gimik co-stars Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin, Mylene Dizon, and Dominic Ochoa to appear on her birthday special. The five then recalled their moments on the show while cooking steam Lapu-Lapu and Thai pork rib soup.
Marvin, a restauranteur himself made a cocktail for the occasion.
During one of their conversations, they briefly recalled their roles on the show.
“We were cool once you know,” Judy Ann joked. “We were young once.”
“It was shown on ABS-CBN. It’s a show called Gimik” Mylene added. “It was our panlaban to T.G.I.S.”
T.G.I.S or Thank God It’s Sabado was GMA 7’s teen-oriented show that starred Angelu de Leon, Bobby Andrews, Michael Flores, and Ciara Sotto among other stars.
Baptism of Fire
As they continued their conversation while cooking, Mylene, who has been in a long-term relationship with Jason Webb shared that the show was her, Marvin, Diether Ocampo’s first show then.
“Baptism of fire namin ni Marvin and Diether bilang mga artista [yung show],” Mylene said.
Dominic, who joined the show during the second season added that when he and Mylene were doing commercials before showbiz, they told each other that whoever back then would join showbiz was considered “baduy” or corny. Mylene eventually joined showbiz.
“Yung sinabi ko na baduy mag-artista, kailangan ko lang naman ng pera Dom,” she protested.
Judy Ann previously teased the episode on her social media accounts.
Gimik ran from 1996 to 1999 with a movie, Gimik: The Reunion released in 1999. In 2010, Judy Ann, Giselle Toengi, Mylene, Diether, Marvin, Jolina, and Bojo Molina reunited in a special Gimik 2010 series.
