After a four-year hiatus, Justin Bieber’s SWAG Album reflects how fatherhood has made him a “swag” dad
“Swag” usually means cool when we say it, but in the context of Justin Bieber’s new album, it’s a nod to him embracing his humanity as he persists in becoming a better dad to his son, Jack Blues Bieber, and husband to his wife, Hailey Bieber. And considering the many trials and horrors he’s faced in his career as a young star, the SWAG album is an ode to embracing every part of himself to be the man his family needs him to be. So, for every be-lieber parent out there, this new album may make you feel something.

A Window To His More “Chaotic Years”
It’s no secret that Justin Bieber’s had a wild life. His new album has been quite explicit about it, especially in the track “THERAPY SESSION,” where he admits to “going through a lot of “struggles as a human being.”
“That’s been a tough thing for me recently.” He says, “It’s feelin’ like, you know, I have had to go through a lot of my struggles as a human, as all of us do really publicly. And so people are always askin’ if I’m okay. And that starts to really weigh on mе…”
The one-minute track has been played over three million times. However, the most talked about one, “DAISIES,” has been played over 13.9 M times on Spotify. It’s a song that gives listeners a glimpse of his relationship with his wife, Hailey, and how they’ve been doing everything they can to make things work:
“Throwin’ petals like, “Do you love me or not?”
Head is spinnin’, and it don’t know when to stop
You said “Forever,” babe, did you mean it, or not?
Hold on, hold on
You leave me on read, babe, but I still get the message
Instead of a line, it’s three dots, but I can connect them
And if it ain’t right, babe, you know I respect it
But if you need time, just take your time
Honey, I get it, I get it, I get it”“DAISIES” by Justin Bieber
Hailey herself even posted the song on her Instagram stories, showing that she doesn’t mind the reference. Justin also made a follow-up song that reaffirms his commitment to Hailey: “WALKING AWAY.”
“Baby, I ain’t walking away
You were my diamond, gave you a ring
I made you a promise, I told you I’d change
It’s just human nature, these growing pains
And, baby, I ain’t walking away
And every time you don’t say my name
I’m reminded how I love when you say it
I know we have this moment to face
Baby, I ain’t walking away”

Some have speculated that “DADZ LOVE” is more of a tribute to his son, Jack. While it’s a short, groovy bridge, it’s still something for his little boy. Most likely, it’s the rhythm that his son enjoys listening to.
It’s not easy for dads to become vulnerable
As the world opens up to mental healthMental HealthA person's emotional, psychological, and social well-being, which affects how children and parents think, feel, and cope. Open conversations, regular routines, and timely help from professionals make it easier for, more dads have stepped forward. While it’s not always direct or in a conversation, sometimes, the best way to express it is through a more artistic approach. Some dads prefer painting. Others like cooking. But Justin likes singing, so it makes a lot of sense for his new album to reflect his inner world. And while some may find it different from the usual party jams he’s made, dads or men who have gone through a chaotic period themselves may find solace in his music.
Right now, all the songs are available on Spotify.
