Kris Aquino Pens a Special Message to Bimby for His 17th Birthday

Kris Aquino thanked her son Bimby on his 17th birthday, telling him she will always be grateful for him taking care of her amid her illness.

Actress and TV host Kris Aquino marked her son Bimby’s birthday by sharing a long message. Kris is currently in the US as she seeks medical treatment for her immune disease.

In the post, she wrote that she has not been sharing much given that her updates have been sad. But she recalled the moment she gave birth to Bimby back on April 19, 2007, describing him as her “guardian angel.”

“In the past month with Kuya Josh back in the [Philippines], and because of several vaccines I needed to be given—Bimb kept me company while I quarantined,” she told her followers.

She also greeted actress Kim Chiu who shares the same date as Bimby’s day.

Kris to Bimby: “I’ll keep my promise”

She began her message by writing: “To Bimb, I’m keeping the promise I made to you—September 28, 2018, when we first knew there was something scary about my sudden weight loss and my complete blood test result. I’m sorry for showing weakness yesterday when I cried nonstop because of my fear that I may not be around to be with you on your 18th birthday.”

Kris said that amidst the challenges of her condition, her son has become mature alongside the nurses and doctors who deal with her daily.

“No matter how much physical pain I endure daily—my heart overflows with love because of your caring, selfless, unconditional LOVE,” she continues. “My one wish is for your character to remain STRONG, your values and integrity stay ADMIRABLE, your respectful and polite manner UNCHANGED, and your passion for learning will continue to inspire you to make the most of your education. I LOVE YOU not only during my lifetime or yours BUT definitely for eternity.”

Bimby as her greatest achievement

In the last part of her post, Kris said she considers her youngest as one of her “greatest achievements.”

“This early you’ve embraced your responsibility to take care of your kuya, and since you were 11 years old, you’ve been so protective of me. Love doesn’t die my [honey], please remember that. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the love of my life.”

Kris would occasionally share updates on her health on social media, one of them was last January. In that post, she hinted that Bimby might return to the Philippines.

In that post, she told Cristine Calawod of Cornerstone: “He needs to work because my medical bills are already getting higher and higher. But Tin, the stage mom is already saying NO to a name change. He’ll stay as Bimb. No last name, like Drake.”

Bimby is Kris’ son with basketball and San Juan politician James Yap.
