Lian Paz Once Considered Working as an OFW

Former EB Babe and dancer Lian Paz shares that she once considered working abroad for the future of her two kids.

Moms will do anything for their children — even working abroad just to give them a better life. But sometimes, there are other plans just like in the case of former EB Babe and dancer Lian Paz.

In an Instagram post on September 20, Lian, who is now based in Cebu, recalled at one point that she wanted to be an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) just to provide for her kids.

“Looking back to the time I was thinking to go out of the country to work para sa future ng mga bata. Waaaahh naiiyak ako iniisip ko pa lang. Kaya isa to sa napakalaking grasya ng Diyos na hindi niya ko hinayaan umabot doon,” she wrote, referring to the opportunities being given to her these days.

“He always has another plan that will make you a better parent, a better person. Ngayon ko lang naisip how the Lord worked in my life so faithfully. Hindi niya ako iniwan kahit kailan. He keeps on pursuing me and with that, I am forever thankful.”

Trusting God’s plans

Lian Paz, who is a mother of two, said that the challenges she went through just showed she had to trust God in his plans for her.

“The Lord is compassionate and forgiving, this is what I have learned lately as I continue to seek the Lord… Glorifying his name as long as we live!”

Through the years, many Filipinos continue to seek work abroad just to provide for their children. Moreover, a number of them are mothers working as domestic workers in various parts of the world. Some studies even showed that moms being away have difficult relationships with their children.

Lian Paz has two kids with ex-husband Paolo Contis. In addition, she has been in a longtime relationship with her current partner John Cabahug.
