Marcelito Pomoy Pens a Sweet Letter or His Daughter’s 1st Birthday

Besides celebrating Marchesa’s 1st birthday, singer Marcelito Pomoy adds a snippet of the struggles of having a child.

2,555 days — that’s how long singer Marcelito Pomoy and his wife, Joan Paraiso, prayed to have another little girl. She then came in the form of Marchesa Janoah, who recently celebrated her first birthday.

To commemorate the occasion, the little girl had a pastel pink and sea green-colored photo shoot. And once the shots came out, Marcelito Pomoy shared a snippet of his and Joan’s struggle in trying to have another baby.

“7 years of thinking we [Marcelito and Joan] were broken”

The stress of seeing negative pregnancy tests and inconclusive results from the doctor can take its toll on parents who want to have children. Even after all the lifestyle changes and efforts, some couples just accept the reality that maybe having their own baby is a pipe dream. Although Marcelito and Joan already had Marcella Janiah who they lovingly call MJ, they wanted her to have a sister. That way, Marcella will always have someone in her corner even when they’re gone.

“So many of those years crying, with negative after negative test, and thinking we were broken. Then had to see an OB gynecologist if there is any problem with the both of us… And now it’s finally our turn!” writes Marcelito. “And now… It’s been 365 days since you came into our lives and it hasn’t been a dull moment since.”

In true girl-dad fashion, he echoes every dad’s sentiments for their daughters. “In my eyes, you will always be my baby girl. Don’t grow up too fast, little one. We love you!”

When the struggle bears fruit

The ability to conceive a baby isn’t the same for everybody. Some have it harder than others without any feasible medical explanation but when the miracle does happen, it’s a treasure parents will fight hard to keep. They will re-evaluate their work-life balance, quit jobs, and even transform their lifestyles to protect the new life they’ve dreamed of bringing into the world.

Marcelito Pomoy recently left for the United States to perform, empathizing with the OFWs and hoping that his music could help them cope with their homesickness. He also recently performed in the Champions Pinoy Pride Concert last June 11, 2023, at the Historic Bal Theatre in San Leandro, California. He also hinted in his letter that he “can’t wait to go home to her.”

Marcelito Pomoy married Joan Paraiso on September 21, 2014 and has two daughters: Marcella Janiah and Marchesa Janoah.
