Neri Naig-Miranda Shares Her Journey to Losing Weight

The actress and entrepreneur Neri Naig-Miranda has been walking and cutting carbohydrates and sweets are her way of getting back to her weight goal.

Actress and entrepreneur Neri Naig-Miranda is determined to reach her ideal weight again after giving birth last year. In an Instagram post on January 22, she shared that she has been doing a lot of exercises including walking with her husband, Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda.

Walking kasama ng asawa ko para kahit papaano makapag exercise,” she said. (Walking with my husband just to get some exercise.)

Miranda said that in October she weighed 73 kilos. As of January, she is slowly getting back in shape, cutting carbohydrates and sweets from her diet.

Last month, 69 kilos ako. Dahil no carbs at sweets ako muna to achieve my goal (55 kilos 5’6″ height ko ), 61 kilos ako now,” she said.

(Last month, I weighed 69 kilos. This is because I’ve cut down on carbos and sweets for the time being to achieve my goal. I am 61 kilos as of now.)

She also tagged Kim King who has been making delicious and healthy meals including the popular broth cleanse diet.

Neri: “Don’t be in a hurry to lose weight”

Although she has been working out and eating clean, Neri Naig-Miranda said discipline and consistency are needed. She also reminded moms who recently give birth not to be pressured in losing weight.

Syempre, need ko pa rin ng disiplina. Dahan dahan lang. Kase two weeks ago, nag-try akong mag exercise, more on stretching tapos may planking, ayun, dinugo ako. Kaya sa lahat ng mga bagong panganak, wag biglain lalo na kapag CS,” she said. “Natakot ako but I am okay. Wag madaliin. For now walking muna kami sa village. Isa sa umaga, isa sa hapon. Iba din tong walking buddy ko eh, buong subdivision ang gusto nyang ikutin ko, ang haaaaarsh. Pero oks lang basta nakaspotify ako na pang 90s and early 2000s.”

(I still need to be disciplined. Doing it slowly but surely. Two weeks ago, I tried to exercise more by stretching and planking. Unfortunately, some blood came out. To those who recently gave birth, don’t force yourself especially when you underwent CS. I got scared but I am okay. Don’t rush. For now, we do a lot of walking in the village. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. My walking buddy is one of a kind. He wants to go around the whole village. It’s harsh but manageable as long as I listen to music from the 90s and 2000s with Spotify.)

Be a supportive partner

If your partner is on the road to recovery or trying to lose weight, don’t just be encouraging, join and support the journey. Doing it together motivates one another to reach the goal. After all, a family or a couple that does it together can stay together.
