Nicole Borromeo to Family: I Can’t Thank Them Enough
Newly crowned Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 Nicole Borromeo writes a message for her family after winning last July 31.
Four days after bagging the Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 crown, Nicole Borromeo posted a message to her family thanking them for the love and support in her pageant journey.
“With or without a crown, I’m proud of you,” she wrote. “My family was never [the] type to force things on me and I can’t thank them enough for giving me the freedom to follow my heart. This goes to the support back home. My backbone.”
She thanked her mom Joanne, to whom she dedicated her pageant journey. “I started pageantry because I wanted to make you proud and now I have the honor of carrying the Philippines across my chest.”
Nicole also mentioned her dad Ed, sister Sabrina, Tito Radj, and grandparents for allowing her to spread her wings.
“To my family, thank you for loving me. For encouraging me to keep going and grab every opportunity. I can’t wait to go back home. I love you all deeply,” she said. “There really is no place like home.”
Time off for now
In a recent interview with Modern Parenting, Joanne Borromeo said she and the family can relax after seeing the challenges Nicole went through during her pageant journey.
“Kasi for how many months now, ako yung na stress sa kanya na parang wala siyang pahinga. So at least may break na siya,” Joanne said.
The 21-year-old Cebuana succeeded Hannah Arnold and will compete in the 61st Miss International competition in 2023.
Nicole and fellow queens Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Gabrielle Basiano, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Roberta Tamondong, Binibining Pilipinas Globe Chelsea Fernandez, and runner-ups Herlene Budol and Stacey Gabriel are currently busy with their media tour.
