Celebrity mom Melissa Ricks celebrates her daughter, Mikaela’s, first birthday with a very whimsical and wonderland birthday!

When planning our kids’ first birthday, we are always looking for themes that are either easy to DIY or common enough that event stylists will understand the execution right away. Some designs include Cocomelon, Pinkfong, unicorns, and anything Disney-related. And for Melissa Rick’s daughter, Mikaela, she gets an Alice in Wonderland-themed birthday!

A whimsical wonder for the first birthday!

First birthdays are always the most grand. It’s a celebration for ourselves also as parents; we survived the first year of navigating our lives as their parents. Every moment feels whimsical and unpredictable, just like Wonderland. And since kids love novelty, it makes sense for Melissa Ricks to make Mikaela feel like she’s Alice in Wonderland.

Before the birthday celebration, Melissa Ricks posted a sweet letter for her daughter. “You were asked in prayer and you were given. A gift from God… We love you Mika Girl… Happy 1st Birthday!!!!”

She also celebrated her elder daughter, Kiera’s, 9th birthday a week before.

Celebrating one of the most whimsical moments of parenting

No two parenting journeys are alike, whether it’s our first, second, or third child. We’ll even notice the birthday themes we selected for our kids’ first birthdays differ. Not because of trends or anything but, because our kids just like different things. While Kiera had a candy-themed 1st birthday, Mikaela got a wonderland-themed one. Ultimately, all that matters is Mikaela enjoyed. Happy birthday, Mikaela!

Mikaela is Melissa Rick’s first child with her non-showbiz husband, Michael Macatangay. Her eldest daughter, Kiera, is her child with Charles Togezaki.
