News of pregnancy is a joyful occasion to celebrate. Many moms announce by sharing the sonogram or through a photo shoot. Take the case of beauty queen Sharifa Akeel, who confirmed she’s expecting baby number two.
The Miss Asia Pacific International titleholder announced on Wednesday, August 21, that she was expecting another baby girl by sharing photos alongside her daughter Salwa. Sharifa is seen holding Salwa and dressed in a yellow dress, as she shows her growing baby bump. The photos were shot by Nice Print Photo.
“Exciting News! I am thrilled to share that Salwa is becoming a big sister. Haha, yes! Baby number 2 is on the way, and once again, it’s a GIRL 🎀 Alhamdulillah, I can’t wait to meet you little one!”
Her fellow moms like beauty queens Karen Gallman and Eva Patalinjug congratulated Sharifa on the news.
Away from the limelight
To refresh people’s memories, Sharifa won the title of Mutya ng Pilipinas and went on to represent the country in the Miss Asia Pacific International competition, where she won the title. After passing on her crown, Sharifa became a model and entrepreneur.
Sharifa is married to Maguindanao congressman Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu. The couple have a daughter, Salwa.
She also championed the importance of helping lactating moms by donating breastmilk last year to those struggling to feed their babies.
